Wrongfully Accused | 1998 | PG-13 | - 4.4.3

Leslie Nielsen and Kelly LeBrock star in this spoof of mainly "The Fugitive," but also of other old and recent films.

SEX/NUDITY 4 - Lots of sexual innuendo (including implied erections and references to masturbation, lesbians, orgasms, adultery, sperm banks and homosexual sex). Some women wear cleavage revealing outfits and swimsuits. A woman teases a man by suggestively caressing a cigar with her mouth. A woman shifts her breasts in her swimsuit and lifeguards of both sexes adjust body parts within their swimsuits. During a struggle between two men, they assume sexually suggestive positions. A man and woman are shown in bed together having sex - with some movements and sounds. A man and woman kiss, and oral sex is implied.

VIOLENCE/GORE 4 - Lots of cartoonish violence played for laughs: people are being hit with objects, a man is shocked, a man's ear is cut off (we only see the ear fall to the ground), a man's fake arm, leg and eye are pulled out, and lots of property damage. A man is shot repeatedly and killed by arrows. A man is crushed by a table, some people are shot at, and a man is stabbed (off camera). A bus careens over a hill and stops on railroad tracks where it is hit by a train. A couple of explosions.

LANGUAGE 3 - A few scatological terms, 10 mild obscenities, several anatomical references and insults.

DISCUSSION TOPICS - Crime and justice, escape from prison, trying to clear your name.

MESSAGE - The distinct satirical genre spawned by "Airplane" has reached its artistic and comedic nadir.

CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
