Why is “Regretting You” rated PG-13? The MPAA rating has been assigned for “sexual content, teen drug and alcohol use, and brief strong language.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes several sex scenes between adults, and between teenagers, with partial nudity, a teen girl becoming pregnant, several kissing scenes, discussion of infidelity, a man and a woman dying in a car crash, many outbursts of anger and frustration, discussions of terminal cancer and chemotherapy, many arguments, and at least 2 F-words and other strong language. A teen boy climbs through a teen girl’s bedroom window and they kiss tenderly, then lie in bed together after taking his shirt off (we see his bare chest, abdomen and back); he thrusts on top of the girl and they moan (she is seen wearing a bra that reveals cleavage and part of her abdomen); he stops when he sees the girl crying. A teen boy and a teen girl kiss while lying in bed and the girl thrusts on top of the boy.

A teenage girl steals a pregnancy test in a convenience store and takes it to the public restroom; we understand later that she is pregnant. A man asks a woman if she thinks another man and woman were having an affair. A man tells a woman that he has loved her for a long time and never thought about anyone but her. A woman tells her teenage daughter about the girl’s father and aunt having an affair.
► Teenagers wearing swimsuits drink and dance at a beach party (we see bare chests and abdomens on the young men and cleavage, bare abdomens, backs and legs of the young women). A woman wears a low-cut dress that reveals cleavage. A teen girl wears a short dress that reveals cleavage and bare legs to the thighs.

Regretting You VIOLENCE/GORE 3

 – A man and a woman go to a hospital and are told that their spouses died in a car accident.
► We understand that a man served time in prison (presumably for selling drugs). A teenage girl steals a pregnancy test in a convenience store and takes it to the public restroom; we understand later that she is pregnant.
► We hear that a man is suffering from cancer and we see him using oxygen in a few scenes. A reference is made to suffering from only child syndrome. A man says that his wife left him and a teen boy says that she died. A man becomes upset and hands his young son to a woman saying that he is not his son. A teen boy says that his mother died when he was young and that his father wasn’t around. We hear that a man will be undergoing chemotherapy.
► A teen girl sees a man and woman kissing passionately and becomes upset calling them disgusting before storming out of the room. A man and a woman destroy a painting by throwing eggs at it and slashing it with a knife. A woman kicks a swinging door making a hole in the door and when it swings back on her she falls on the floor and yells (we don’t see injuries). A teen boy and a teen girl argue. A man and a woman go to a hotel where they find her husband’s car parked and understand that he was having an affair; the woman kicks and pounds on the car and kicks the muffler off while yelling. A woman yells at her teenage daughter and quizzes her about smoking marijuana with a teen boy. A woman and her teenage daughter argue in several scenes. A teen boy moves a city limit sign to be closer to a particular house in order to get a pizza delivered. A murderer jumps toward a person in a movie, startling the people watching the movie.
► A teen girl vomits after drinking wine and we see goo, a teen girl vomits in a toilet (we do not see goo), and a man tells stories of a teen boy’s youth and remembers him having soiled his pants because he was afraid of the sound of the toilet flushing.

 – A teen girl asks a teen boy for marijuana and he says that he doesn’t smoke but he knows where to get some (we see him paying another teen for some marijuana), a teen girl lights and takes a puff from a marijuana cigarette and coughs deeply, and a woman says that acetaminophen will help an infant that has a fever. Teenagers drink beer and shots of liquor at a beach party, a teen tells a teen girl that she is his favorite when she is drunk, two teen girls drink wine from a bottle and pour some on the grave of a woman, a woman drinks a lot of wine in a few scenes and seems inebriated, a woman drives a car after drinking a lot of wine, and people drink wine with a meal. A man tries to light a cigarette and a teen boy takes it away from him, and a man says that he will play poker with two teens using cigarettes.
