The MPAA rating has been assigned for “some strong violence, sexual content, graphic nudity and language.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes several sex scenes with partial nudity, a fully nude man in a non-sexual context, some flirting, many scenes of people struggling against nature and wild animals to grow food and live safely on a remote island, several fights with knives and guns leading to death and injury, many arguments, some discussions of fraud, and at least 10 F-words and other strong language. Set in the late 1920s, a man and a woman (Jude Law and Vanessa Kirby) decide to escape the spread of European fascism and end up settling on an unpopulated island in the Galapagos. Others follow, and personalities and purposes clash. Also with Ana de Armas, Daniel Brühl, Sydney Sweeney, Jonathan Tittel, Felix Kammerer, Toby Wallace, Ignacio Gasparini, Richard Roxburgh and Paul Gleeson. Directed by Ron Howard. Eden SEX/NUDITY 8

 – A man and a woman kiss and have sex while swimming in the ocean (we see bare buttocks under the water) and another man watches and appears jealous until the woman invites him to join her and the other man. A man and woman have sex: she straddles him and thrusts briefly (we see his bare chest and abdomen and her bare shoulders).
 We hear the sounds of sex between two men and a woman moaning coming from a tent in several scenes. We hear a man and a woman having sex in a tent and three men with guns call for the woman to come out to talk to them (please see the Violence/Gore category for more details); the man she is having sex with charges out of the tent fully nude (we see his bare chest, abdomen, legs, buttocks and partial genitals). A man and a woman sleep in a tent and we see the man fully nude from the back and the woman partially clothed (we see the man’s bare back, buttocks and legs and the woman’s back and legs).
 A man and a woman kiss. A woman tries to seduce a man; she tries to kiss him and he pulls away, she complains of chest pains and puts his hand on her chest, she lies back, puts his hand on her lower abdomen, moans and the man laughs and leaves. A woman flirts with a man and caresses his hair. A woman sings and dances with suggestive moves around a table and focuses her attention on men and a young boy. A woman and two men dance and laugh in a tent and others in the area seem frustrated.
 A wife tells her husband that she is “late.” A woman asks another woman why she married a man and says, “He’s either rich or gifted.”
 A man is introduced to newcomers and he appears fully nude (we see his bare chest, abdomen, genitals, legs, back and buttocks). A woman opens her blouse to nurse her newborn child in several scenes and we see her bare breast; she does this in one scene while being questioned by an official and it clearly makes him uncomfortable. A woman bathes wearing a sheer camisole that reveals her breasts and nipples through the fabric. A woman wears a low-cut dress that reveals cleavage. Shirtless men are seen in several scenes (we see their bare chests, abdomens and backs). Women wear low-cut tops that reveal cleavage in several scenes.

Eden VIOLENCE/GORE 7

 – We hear a man and a woman having sex in a tent and three men with guns call for the woman to come out to talk to them and the woman refuses; one man yells at her and the man she is having sex with charges out of the tent and attacks them, one man draws a knife and stabs the attacker through the hand (we see blood and the blade), they wrestle on the ground and the blade is pressed toward one man’s mouth until another man grabs the man with the knife in a chokehold and stabs him in the side several times killing him (we hear crunching and see blood on the wounds). A woman is shot in the back of the head and blood spurts from the exit wound in her forehead as she falls dead. A man yells at a woman and she slaps him in the face; the man then slaps the woman in the face and another man attacks him, punching him and knocking him unconscious with a kick to the head.
 A woman gasps and doubles over in pain when labor pains begin, we see blood on her legs and we see her water break; she calls for her husband and son and calls for others to help her, she is surrounded by wild dogs and she uses a broom handle to keep them away when they snarl and snap at her and they try to get the newborn after it is born (we see goo on the child); a man holds the motionless newborn and tries to get him to breathe (he eventually cries).
 A man eats chicken and suffers from food poisoning; he moans and gags loudly (we do not see him vomit), and he falls still after telling a woman, “I curse you with my dying breath.” A woman has a fever after delivering her baby and she whimpers when a man presses on her still swollen abdomen; he tells her that he will need to remove the placenta that is stuck in her uterus and she screams in pain when he does so (we see a large collection of bloody tissue being held in the man’s hand) and he tells her that he will use a spoon to scrape out any remaining tissue. A man presses on a woman’s infected tooth and she pulls away, they argue and she pushes him, he holds her and pulls the tooth out using a pair of pliers and she spits blood on him (we see the bloody tooth). A man’s body and a woman’s body are thrown over a cliff into the ocean below.
 We hear loud explosions and see a ship off the coast of an island firing guns. Several people hold guns on each other while arguing. A woman calls for her dog to keep another woman from leaving the area and it barks at her. A woman says that men are like dogs in that they can be trained by causing them pain (we see a dog with a bandaged leg at one point) and then nursing them back to health.
 A man hears noises outside at night and he shoots into tall grasses (we hear an animal sound and a thud) and we see a dead animal. A man shoots a wild pig that is destroying his vegetable garden (we hear it squeal and it falls to the ground). A man shoots a cow and we see him skinning it and preparing the meat to eat; another man asks if he can have the cow’s head. A man carries a dead lizard over his shoulder. Wild dogs ransack food stores and leave people with very little food; the dogs growl and snarl when they are rousted out of the area by a man. A man tries to chase a wild pig out of his vegetable garden and we see that it has torn a hole in the wire fencing around the garden.
 Two men steal canned food from other people’s pantries. A man becomes angry and throws his typewriter on the ground before shooting it several times. A woman argues with people and tells a man that she will not tolerate any man that questions her ambition; she then fires him. A woman becomes enraged when she realizes that she has no more food; she orders two men to take canned food from other people.
 A woman asks if she can borrow another woman’s burrow to help her and the woman refuses to allow her. A man and a woman frolic in a small body of water and are approached by a man and a woman who inform them that this is their only source of drinking water. A man talks about creating a new philosophy that will save the world. A woman says that marriage makes you sick. A woman describes building a hotel and resort that will be open to millionaires only. A woman says of other people, “I don’t like them.” A man says that a desperate man is pathetic. We understand that a woman has multiple sclerosis and has trouble walking. We understand that a young boy has tuberculosis and is weak. Two men carry a woman on their shoulders to a beach from a boat. A man tells a woman, “You are incapable of humor.” A woman is described as having an ironclad will. A woman complains about a man “giving in to the will to live” after their vegetable garden is ruined and he resorts to eating meat. A woman says, “Power is nothing without respect.”
 A volcano appears to be erupting in the distance on a nearby island. Lightning lights the sky and thunder cracks during a storm. A man pulls an insect out from under a woman’s skin on her foot (we see a little blood). Several scenes show crabs and lizards on island terrain; some are shown dead and in skeletal state. A bird of prey attacks a lizard and we hear it squealing. A man feeds spoiled food to chickens and we later see the chickens dead and dying. A woman says that an insect’s sting can be deadly. A man talks in his sleep and we understand that he has suffered from memories of his service in war. We are told that a man pulled out his own teeth to avoid infection and we see his empty gums; we later see him use false teeth made of metal. A man leads a cow into a cave and barricades it inside to use it for milk. A woman says that bacteria can be killed by boiling meat but it does not kill the disease they cause.
 A woman vomits a couple of times and we see goo. A woman digs in piles of dung using her bare hands in a few scenes. People are swarmed by flying bugs in a few scenes. A man is shown to have scars on his back. A woman smashes an insect on her face and we see a streak of blood on her cheek. A man says that a woman had a hysterectomy and she is upset that he offered this information to other people.
