Why is “Vacation Friends 2” rated R? The MPAA rating has been assigned for “pervasive language, some sexual references and drug use.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes a few kissing scenes, a few car chases including gunfire exchanges without injuries, a plane crash without injuries, drug use, discussions of drug dealing and trafficking, several arguments and 117 F-words and other strong language. In this sequel, a newly married couple (Lil Rel Howery and Yvonne Orji) invite their uninhibited friends (John Cena and Meredith Hagner), who are also newly married and have a baby, to join them for an all-expense-paid trip to a Caribbean resort. Also with Steve Buscemi, Ronny Chieng, Jamie Hector and Carlos Santos. Directed by Clay Tarver. Several lines of dialogue are spoken in Korean and Spanish with English subtitles. Vacation Friends 2 SEX/NUDITY 3

 – A man and a woman kiss quickly; later, they both admit that they do not want a baby. A man kisses another man on the forehead.
► A woman asks a man, “How much do you charge?” he looks surprised and asks, “For what?” and she replies that it’s for babysitting. As a joke, a woman announces that a man and a woman in an airport are “nasty-[anatomical term deleted] sex offenders,” and no one laughs.
► Several scenes show women wearing bikinis, crop-tops and short-shorts that reveal cleavage and bare legs to the hips and several other scenes show women wearing low-cut dresses. A man removes his shirt to go surfing (we see his bare chest, abdomen and back).

Vacation Friends 2 VIOLENCE/GORE 4

 – People board a plane on a beach and a man tosses a large bag and a pack of white powder (supposedly someone’s ashes) out of the plane and the plane departs; men shoot at the plane, the plane crashes on an island, the wheels fall off, it explodes as the people walk away (no injuries occur) and one man is punched unconscious by another man. Several Jeeps chase an SUV, while drivers and passengers shoot automatic weapons (no one is struck); the vehicles swerve, the SUV’s tire goes flat, it flips completely and lands upright (no one is harmed).
► Men and women are sealed into a shipping container and dropped into the ocean (please see the Substance Use category for more details) and it sinks; one man lies on a crate and pushes his feet against a corner of the container, it creaks, water rushes into the container and all the people escape safely. A small building catches fire at night and we see tall flames and smoke; the scene shifts to the morning where we see charred timbers and a bit of smoke and two men argue about the fire.
► Two men surf and one man falls off his board, the scene goes black and returns with the man lying on a beach with two other men looking down at him; the men tell him that he expelled a lot of water out of his anus (he is not injured). Men and women snorkel in dirty water and a woman is startled when a sanitary napkin floats by her face (it is not stained).
► A man shows up at a resort and starts a loud argument with two staff members, as a woman approaches, screaming and cursing; she argues with the man as a joke and then smiles and hugs him. A man argues briefly with other men in several scenes. A man announces in two scenes that he has killed 42 men in combat. As a joke, a woman screams in an airport, “Stop that man, he has anthrax!” (people stare). Men argue in several scenes, sometimes shouting. A woman and man argue briefly. A man tells another man he has bad body odor. A man threatens to shoot another man’s brain out with a handgun.
► People dance under a flaming limbo pole. A woman is ejected from a casino and three men carry her out as she screams.

Vacation Friends 2 SUBSTANCE USE

 – A man snorts a line of cocaine, a man receives a five pound bag of cocaine in a pizza box and when a woman snorts some of it and a man tells her it is her mother’s ashes she screams, two men are said to be drug dealers, and a man smokes a marijuana cigarette inside a freight car to see where the smoke leads to on the outside. Several party scenes show people holding glasses of wine as well as champagne and cocktails with a few people sipping them, four people at a café chug shots of rum and a dark liquor many times before going to their hotel room where they drink an entire bottle of rum leaving one man with an upset stomach that gurgles the next day, several men at a table play a drinking game where they drink shots as fast as possible several times followed by a large glass of beer leaving one man immobilized (he is frozen in position, falls to the floor, and the scene cuts to EMTs and the drinking men looking down at him (he is eventually OK) while another man slurs his words and staggers and needs a ride home, and another inebriated man slurs his words and cries when he talks to a man on the way to his hotel room.
