Trolls have a disco party with drums, loud 1970's music, shouting, singing, and dancing as glitter balls shoot and one Troll is knocked over, but unharmed; beams of light shine into the sky and create a shock wave that extends into a land of Bergens, loud stomping sounds are hears off-screen and a giant bare foot steps into the frame; looking up, we see a giant capturing Trolls and placing them into a fanny pack as a Troll hits the Bergen's big toe with a mallet to no avail. A Bergen tries to feed a Troll to a young Bergen three times, finally forcing it into his mouth in a taco; the Troll appears to have been eaten, but a flashback shows that he clung to the young Bergen's uvula and popped back out, to be captured in a locket.
Bergens in a dining room chant, "Trolls! Trolls!" as they pound on the tables, complaining that they want to eat and when the dinner pot turns up empty the chef yells at guards to kill a maid, shouting, "Finish her!" Trolls sail into a dining room window in a flying roller-skate, shattering a glass window before sailing onto a woman's head to form a rainbow wig; she is hit on the head with a wooden spoon and falls into the empty pot on a serving cart that catches fire, and the chef and a traitor Troll on the cart rolls out of the castle and down an incline to rest on a hill (after the end credits the hill opens with a big mouth, showing a green striped tongue and eyes on stalks and it swallows the two characters and the serving cart). Two trolls each strangle a third troll briefly with their hair and the third Troll escapes and helps a Bergen capture a village of Trolls; the Bergen brings them to a castle and puts them into a pot, where they become depressed and all turn gray (they later escape).
A Venus flytrap closes on a Troll, but she escapes; she falls into a fish's mouth and swims between coils of intestines, floats above stomach acid, pops back out the mouth and erupts in blue spots and swells like a balloon in some sort of allergic reaction; she falls through spider webs, is encased in them, and hits the ground with her tongue hanging out where four chattering four-eyed fuzzy spiders with striped legs skitter toward her and another Troll hits a spider in the eye with a rock, without damage and then whips a spider with his long hair until it retreats and a large monster with antlers swallows the spiders; the Troll uses two lightning bugs as defibrillator paddles on the female Troll and she wakes up singing.
Trolls run through a tunnel and a Bergen above ground, and swings a pickaxe to collapse the tunnel; she catches the briefs of one Troll for a few seconds and a passageway collapses in smoke, but no one is hurt. CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
