F1: The Movie VIOLENCE/GORE 4

 – A driver speeds on a track and when he tries to pass another car, speeds off the track and sails through the air crashing and bursting into flames; another driver stops and pulls the injured driver out of the flames (we see the man’s suit charred and smoldering and see him recovering in the hospital with burns on his hands). Newsreel-type footage shows cars speeding around a track and the aftermath of a crash that leaves a car split in half and the driver motionless and twisted on the track (we see this a couple of times). Cars speed around tracks and swerve around each other; one car sprays oil on the windshield of another, a car bumps another car’s bumper as they speed along, and the cars bump into each other from the side, and one car speeds off the track and through a grassy patch before getting back on the track. A man drives during a race and appears very angry, crashes into a fence and we see him in the hospital later (he recovers). A man lunges toward another man accusing him of trying to run him off the track and two others hold him back. Drivers speak to each other disparagingly in several scenes and push each other a couple of times.
Two cars bump together and spin out crashing through barriers (there are no explosions and the drivers are uninjured). A man tests a car and speeds around turns, and spins out and crashes into a wall (he is uninjured). Cars speed around each other on a track during a race and bump their tires together a few times causing some cars to jump off the ground but they don’t crash. Cars try to block each other from passing in races and bump into each other and during one race three cars bump each other off the track. Cars make contact during a race and crash into a barrier sending debris onto the track. Cars speed on sand mounds and jump in the air.

We see an ad for “Crypto.com.” A man reads another man’s medical chart and we hear that his injuries (neck fracture) may cause vision loss, paralysis or death.
A man winces in pain and seems to have double vision in a couple of scenes. A man is shown with a large scar down his spine. A man dunks his face in a sink filled with ice a couple of times. A man sits in ice baths in several scenes.
Pit stops require teams to change tires very quickly and when a tool jams in one pit stop, it is dropped on the ground and the driver speeds over it unaware that it is there. Cars’ exhausts spray flames while driving. Cars change tires when the track becomes wet during a rainstorm.

CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
