Based on the true story of a crew of deep sea divers dispatched to repair a North Sea pipeline 330 feet deep in 2019. When the lifeline of one of the men (Finn Cole) is severed during a raging surface storm, the remaining crew (Woody Harrelson and Simu Liu) scrambles to find a way back to him before it’s too late. With Cliff Curtis, Mark Bonnar, MyAnna Buring, Josef Altin and Bobby Rainsbury. Directed by Alex Parkinson. [Running Time: 1:33]
Last Breath SEX/NUDITY 1
– A man and a woman kiss and embrace, and a man and a woman kiss tenderly.
► A man asks another man to join him in his bunk for a five-minute cuddle; the other man declines. A man jokes about kissing other men at a wedding reception.
► A man exercises shirtless and we see his bare shoulders and partial chest.
Last Breath VIOLENCE/GORE 4
– A diver rushes to get out of a structure when the ship he is tethered to is being thrown around in large waves and pulled off course; his umbilical is snagged on the structure and it breaks leaving him floating free with only 10 minutes of air in his backup tanks. A diver alone on the bottom of the ocean tries to find his way to a structure in pitch-black water when his compass fails. A drone is steered to a motionless diver and latches onto his suit to pull him up but he is secured to a framework and cannot be lifted. A diver retrieves another diver who is motionless and pulls them both up a tether toward a dive bell where another man performs mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on the unresponsive man; the man starts breathing but is unresponsive.
► A body is shown underwater at the site of a sunken vessel and a man talks about not being able to find one of the men that was on the boat. A grainy image of a diver lying on his side and twitching is seen. A man says that after a period of time a mission has become a body recovery.
► Two divers drop out of a dive bell and into deep water where they touch bottom and walk toward a structure; one diver is advised to moderate his breathing. Two men prepare to enter the water and check their air lines and the warm water that flows through their suits. Three men suit up and enter a dive bell; the bell is maneuvered out of a large ship and into the deep and the divers are jostled by large waves above. Several men are sealed in large tanks to pressurize for 20 days before they can dive and helium gas is pumped into the tanks.
► A man says, “I should be dead.” A man explains that if men step out of a pressurizing tank before depressurizing, “Their vital organs will explode.” A man describes feeling peaceful when his air was running out and he lost consciousness. We understand that a man was without oxygen for 29 minutes and revived with no physical or mental damage. A man describes the potential for causing an environmental disaster.
► A large ship sets sail and we see it heading toward a looming storm cloud in the distance; it later faces large swells and loses navigation power.
► We read that 20,000 miles of pipeline stretch under sea around the world and that men dive up to 1000 feet to repair them when necessary. A man describes that after a man was not found when his boat sank, his wife was given a shoebox with his belongings from his locker. A man reassures a woman that he will be OK on a dive. A man talks about a company putting him out to pasture.
► A man asks another man if he is wearing his adult diaper. A man says that he has not had an irregular bowel movement for some time.
