SEX/NUDITY 5 - A teen girl watches instructional videos on how to perform oral sex and we see a woman on the screen holding a sex aid that looks like a penis and points to it (we do not hear her saying anything). A teen girl holds a banana and moves it close to her mouth to practice oral sex until she is interrupted by her father and she becomes angry and throws the banana at him as she leaves the room. A teenage boy in a Sex Ed class covers himself with his T-shirt and we see rhythmic movement as someone calls out asking if he is masturbating; the rest of the class laughs and we hear him telling them to stop being weird.
A teen boy driving with a teen girl stops the car and gets in the back seat with the girl; they play "Truth or Dare" and the boy asks how far she has gone, he then removes his shirt, tells the girl to remove her shirt and when she doesn't he becomes upset and tries to guilt her into doing something by saying that he was only doing it for her (he drops her off at her house). A teen girl watches a teen boy flexing his muscles in a video on her cellphone and she kisses her hand pretending that she is kissing him; she stops abruptly when her father enters the room. A teen boy tries to grab a teen girl's arms and she pushes him away several times saying, "Stop" repeatedly. A teen boy and a teen girl sit at a dining table together and eat and talk on a date and they talk awkwardly.
A teen boy asks a teen girl if she performs oral sex (using crude terms) and she awkwardly responds that she does and that she is good at it. A teen girl stammers when a teen boy whom she likes comes into the room and talks to her. A teen girl looks at a teen boy adoringly in a few scenes. A teen girl tells a teen boy that she has a "dirty photo folder." Several teens argue about another teen having put his arm on a teen girl's shoulder and they then discuss that someone sent a picture to the teen girl of her own feet. A woman in a video comments about "changing bodies" in a Sex Ed class and she talks about pubic hair.
A man is shown shirtless and wearing boxers in a few scenes (we see his bare chest and abdomen). Many teens at a pool party are shown wearing swimsuits that reveal cleavage, abdomens, legs and backs as well as the chests of boys. Several teen girls wearing swimsuits pose for a picture (we see cleavage, abdomens and legs). A teenage girl wears a low-cut top that reveals cleavage.

VIOLENCE/GORE 2 - A teen girl cuts her thumb on her broken cell phone screen (we see a drop of blood and she puts her thumb in her mouth). A man with a gun walks through a hallway in an active shooter drill in a school and points at teens lined up against a wall as he points the gun and says, "Bang, dead"; the children fall to the floor. Students are told to get under their desks during an active shooter drill.
Many awkward social encounters are shown between teens and teens and adults: A teen girl yells at another teen girl about always being mean to her, and a teen girl at a dinner table uses her phone with earbuds while her father is trying to talk to her causing her to yell in frustration, especially after he throws a green bean at her.
A teen girl crawls to the side of a teen boy while they are hiding under their desks during a drill in school and the boy talks about what he would do to a gunman and that he would elbow him and take him down. Several teens argue and talk about another teen having been overweight and now he's dead. A man talks about when his wife left him and their daughter.
A man watches his teen daughter when she is with a group of other teens in a mall and she becomes embarrassed and angry. A teen girl puts a box containing her time capsule memories on fire in her backyard and she watches it burn.
A teen girl storms into her house, slams the door, throws things in her room and cries after an encounter with a teen boy in a car and her father consoles her. A teen girl hyperventilates in a bathroom at a birthday party before joining a group of teens in a swimming pool. A teen girl is startled when her father enters her room and she throws her phone (the screen breaks).
A teen girl adjusts her braces rubber bands and we see her mouth open wide and her fingers in her mouth. A teen boy turns his eyelids inside out. A teen boy spits water through his teeth in a swimming pool. A teen boy plays with his chewing gum and puts one end of it in his nostril with the other end in his mouth. A teen makes flatulent noises with his mouth in a couple of classroom scenes. A teen girl bites into a banana and spits a mouthful out before throwing the rest of the banana at a man.

CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
