A woman (Meghann Fahy) on a first date is hounded by a series of phone messages that threaten her young son if she does not do what the sender demands. – A man draws a gun on a woman and shoots, and another man jumps in the way of the bullet and is struck in the abdomen (we see the blood pulsing from the wound later); the gunman and a woman struggle over the weapon, a plate glass window is shot out and the gunman and the woman are pulled out (there are many stories to the ground and the man falls to his death); the woman clings to a curtain until she is pulled to safety while another woman fights with the gunman and she is stabbed in the back (we see her moaning on the floor later with the knife in her back). A woman with blood on her face and nose moans and pulls herself across the floor as a man with a gun approaches her, kicks her a couple of times and threatens her; he gives the gun to the woman and yells at her, he points the gun at a toddler crying in the distance, he points the gun under his own chin and it is understood that he kills himself (we see this scene a few times in flashbacks).
► A man shoots at a woman in a house and she hides, the man threatens a young boy, the woman hits the man, the man throws the woman and hits her, picks up the boy and the woman stabs the man in the leg with a glass shard (we see blood and he yells). A woman and a young boy hide in a room and a gunman shoots through the door, the woman bites the man’s arm, he pushes the door open to reach them, the man shoots the woman (she has a bloody wound on her shoulder) and he shoots through a bed where he thinks the child is hiding. A woman enters her house and arms herself with a knife that she uses to stab an armed intruder in the shoulder (we see the man with the knife in his shoulder); he throws the woman and kicks her while she moans on the floor and the man is shot several times and falls back motionless. A man guzzles a Martini in a restaurant bar, stands up and appears inebriated, collapses on the floor and leaves the room after people help him up; he leaves the restaurant and we see him lying dead in an elevator later (goo oozes from his mouth). A woman is struck in the head with a gun butt and falls unconscious; a young boy is locked into his room and the door handle is lashed with a rope.
► A masked intruder is seen on a home CCTV and he holds a gun with a silencer. A woman is instructed to take an SD card from a camera, smash it and flush it down the toilet (she does so). A woman opens a paper towel dispenser in a public restroom and finds a vial of a drug that she is told to put in someone’s drink. A woman spills a glass of wine across a table onto a man as a distraction. A woman speeds through a gate in a parking garage, through traffic and a construction zone causing other cars to swerve.
► A man threatens a woman, “I am going to take everything from you.” Threatening messages are shown in many scenes like, “Your son dies,” “Your son will die,” “You’ve killed before.” A counselor talks to a client about the client feeling worthless. A woman says that her preteen child already hates her. A woman talks about her husband dying. A woman talks about her young son having witnessed things that no child should have to see. A meter reader knocks on a woman’s window and startles her. A man gets up to leave a date and she stops him (please see the Sex/Nudity category for more details). A woman is shown with a sling on her arm and an IV in the hospital and a man is seen in a hospital bed recovering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
► A woman searches for her young son (like hide and seek) and when she finds him, they play sword fighting with a wooden spoon and a plastic toy; the woman pretends to be wounded.
