Daddio SEX/NUDITY 8

 – In several scenes, a woman exchanges sexually graphic text messages with an unseen and unnamed man (the texts are shown on-screen) while in a taxi, and the woman receives a photo of the man’s exposed genitals, which we also see, she looks at several photos of her bare breasts and chooses one to send to him (the photos are fully visible and we see several photos in a gallery, she clicks on one, crops it and sends it); they then exchange explicit messages about how aroused they are, and the man urges her to help him masturbate and he tries to video call her, but she rejects the call.
Two people kiss passionately while standing on a city sidewalk. A woman touches a man’s cheek affectionately as they say goodbye.
A man asks a woman to take a photo of her vagina and send it to him. A man texts a woman, asking if she let her cab driver watch her take a photo of her bare breasts (she had not) and tells her she is “naughty.” In several scenes, a man and a woman discuss her affair with a married man and the man tells her that her function for her married boyfriend is only sexual and he makes a sexually suggestive remark. In several scenes, a man and woman discuss “daddy issues” and calling sexual partners “daddy.” A woman tells a man that her married boyfriend is old enough to be her father and the man asks if she ever calls him “daddy” in a sexual context; she says yes, and he replies, “That’s hot.” A man asks a woman if her father ever “did the worst thing he could have done,” implying sexual abuse; the woman says no.
A man discusses his ex-wife, saying she started gaining weight and stopped wanting to have sex with him, and he began an affair with a 19-year-old girl; he says he bought her an apartment and “[F-word deleted] the [scatological term deleted] out of her.” A man describes meeting his wife when she took his cab after clubbing: he says she and her friends wore high heels and tight dresses and describes being aroused and wondering if he would “get lucky.” A man mentions being married twice and getting “a lot of action on the side.” A man says that he has stopped pursuing affairs with women, but he will “take a [term for oral sex removed] on the side every now and again.” A man makes several sexually suggestive remarks about his wife. A man describes his ex-wife dumping cold water on him in the shower once and that he chased her naked around the house, and caught her in the kitchen. A man says he wants to go to Japan because he has heard they have vending machines selling used panties. A woman tells a man that her sister has a girlfriend and that she dated a man when they were younger, and that she “had boyfriends back then.” A man tells a woman, “You won’t be caught with your panties down next time, unless you want to be,” and the woman tells the man not to use the word panties. In several scenes, a man and woman discuss why people cheat in relationships and the man insists that men cheat to impress other men and collect “toys,” while women cheat to feel sexy and wanted; the man says that all men are “pigs in the bedroom.” A man refers to sex with women as “getting their candy.” A man describes growing up in New York and says there used to be prostitutes on every corner asking, “You want a date?” A man describes his ex-wife and says she “had [anatomical term deleted] out to here,” and gestures to imply large breasts. A woman says that she has cankles (thick ankles), and a man says, “That sounds cute.”

Daddio VIOLENCE/GORE 2

 – A woman looks out a car window to see a severe car accident that had held up traffic; we see an overturned car and police directing traffic around it (no injured people are shown).
A woman discusses being pregnant and then miscarrying, bleeding heavily for two weeks, and hiding it from her loved ones and that she had been planning to have an abortion before the miscarriage. A woman describes that her older sister, who acted as a mother figure to her, used to tie her up “ankle to ankle and wrist to wrist” and leave her in an empty bathtub, locking her in the bathroom; she says that her sister called it practice for escaping, if she were ever kidnapped. A man asks a woman if she liked being tied up, and she says she liked “getting free.” When talking about a woman working in a traditionally sexist industry, a man says, “You lifted your leg and left your mark,” (implying urination) and she replies, “I don’t mind squatting.” A man tells a woman he knew she was a New Yorker because, “You look like you can handle yourself.” A taxi driver says that ride-share apps are “[F-word deleted] him in the [anatomical term deleted].” A man discusses being afraid while scuba diving, of trying to breathe underwater. A man says that he likes to tell a lie about seeing a great white shark circling him while scuba diving and giving it the middle finger until it swam away. A woman describes wanting to go to La Noche de los Rábanos and eating all the food, including ants and crickets.
A man says that he met his first wife when she vomited in his cab. While stuck in traffic, a man says, “I gotta [scatological term deleted] like a [F-word deleted] racehorse,” and prepares to urinate in a bottle, in the driver’s seat; the passenger in the back seat tells him to go outside, and he does (we do not see or hear anything). CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
