Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle VIOLENCE/GORE 7

 – A demon lunges toward a fighter that slashes his sword at the demon cutting off his hand (we see the hand separate and the demon grows a new hand very quickly); many more demons arrive, one of which has the head of a boar, and fight as swords slash. A young woman says that she smells blood as she walks through a dark area and when she opens a door we hear slurping and see many bloody bodies around a man that talks about absorbing them; one young woman has blood dribbling from her mouth.
A young man fights with many men, punching, kicking and slashing and we hear about the mayhem and gore (mangled, mutilated, jaws and eyeballs) and that 67 people were killed (we see bodies and blood). A young woman stabs a demon through the eye (we see the blade in the eye and blood) and the demon creates ice flowers that float around her making her cold; the demon vomits a torrent of blood (we see and hear it) after having been poisoned, and coughs and gags. A young woman and a demon fight with swords and razor-sharp fans while the demon goads the young woman; she lunges toward the demon and we see blood droplets spray as she is slashed, she falls to her knees and blood pours onto her hand, and she describes that her lung has collapsed. A young man fights with many men punching and slashing and blood spurts from their wounds, the young man holds blood in his hands as a demon invites him to become a demon. A demon and a young man fight and flip around through the air while lashing their weapons that send sparks and flashes through the air; one is slashed on the hand causing a sizzling sound (we see a bloody cut) and one is knocked to the floor. A fighter sprays an energy beam and it encircles another fighter lopping off his head (blood pours as the head separates). Many demons charge people and we see flames and splintering timber as a structure collapses; many fight and we hear that an arm is severed. A demon and a young man fight as structures shift and rumble loudly, water pours through openings and the young man’s nose bleeds; they each use rapid-fire kicks and slashes with blades. A demon is slashed across the throat and blood sprays, his arm is cut off and we see it separate and blood spurts, but the limb regenerates. A demon’s throat is slashed and blood sprays as his head separates; he holds his head in place trying to force it to reattach and he is struck again with a sword through the head causing it to fall off and burst into flames, the body collapses but revives and continues fighting without a head (we see the puckered neck wound). A young man returns to his home to find a man and the young woman he was going to marry murdered (we see the bodies with a cloth covering their faces and bloodstains on their clothing). A demon pummels himself with punches (we see many holes in his body and he yells not wanting to regenerate). Two people appear dead; one lies in a pool of blood and the other is slumped in a seated position.
A young woman has a flashback to her family being killed and we see blood spurting. A demon holds a young woman close and squeezes in order to absorb her (we see her slowly disappearing into the demon’s body). We hear that a man committed suicide and see him slumped over a pool of blood. We hear that a man hanged himself. A young boy is held on the ground and beaten by a man with a stick for stealing. A man says that his wife drowned herself after being overwhelmed caring for their sick daughter.
A very large bear is said to have been attacking people in a village and a trap is set in the forest; a man stands in front of the bear as it rises above him and cuts its head off using an axe (we see the head separate and fall to the ground with blood). Many demons gather and charge toward a young woman as she screams. Two characters holding swords yell at each other and others fall and swirl through a structure that shifts and changes throughout the film; one swings a chain with a spiked ball at the end that splinters parts of the structure. References are made to “blood demon art.” A giant demon with long tendrils and red flesh and large bulbous body talks about burying many people that fight him. A character falls through a structure and says that he is unable to stop and will crash to the floor below until another character grabs him and pulls him to safety. During fight sequences, the people fighting call out special actions that they are going to employ during the battle creating bright sparks and flashes.
A dying man warns another man that a mysterious demon will be arriving soon and that he will act as the bait for the other man to behead him and endure a battle until the sun rises. CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
