The Legend of Ochi SEX/NUDITY 1

 – A man tells a woman, “I never stopped loving you.”
A man wears long underwear under a suit of armor and we see the crotch of the underwear with a bulge in a couple of scenes.

The Legend of Ochi VIOLENCE/GORE 4

 – A creature with large pointed teeth stands over a man on the ground and we see a puddle of blood. An animal carcass with exposed ribs and bloody flesh is seen on the ground. A man panics when he finds blood and fur in his teen daughter’s room and declares that she has been kidnapped; he takes several teens and boys with guns in a truck and they scour the area. A teen girl checks traps set in a forest and finds one with a broken chain and follows a trail of blood to a small Ochi hiding, with its leg in the trap and bloody; the Ochi snarls and hisses at the teen before pinning it with a branch and releasing it from the trap (we see the Ochi pulling itself on the ground to try to get away). A teen girl is bitten on the arm by an Ochi and we see it swelling up and the flesh changes color; she puts her arm in water and we see leeches clinging to her and the swollen area seems to pulsate.
A teen girl takes an Ochi into a grocery store, the girl eats food from packages on the shelves and drinks from a milk carton, people scream when the Ochi falls onto the floor and a young man holds a shotgun toward the teen and she and the Ochi crash through the front window, steal a car from the parking lot and drive away. An Ochi calls out when it senses danger and several others scatter as a man and several teens and boys with guns charge toward them; a teen boy is struck from behind and rolls down a hill (we do not see injuries), a man throws a spear and it pierces a tree, other trees are set on fire, and a teen girl trips and falls to the ground where an Ochi glares at her. A young Ochi clambers up a tree and jumps along treetops while people on the ground shoot at it. A man and a woman argue bitterly, she pushes him out of a cabin and he falls on the ground, she straddles him and hits him in the face several times until several boys with guns threaten her and she moves away. A teen girl runs through a wooded area and falls into a trap (we see her in a hole in the ground lying unconscious).
An Ochi makes sounds in a teen girl’s room and a teen boy with a gun opens the door and threatens it; the girl climbs out the window and takes the Ochi away. A boy shoots at an Ochi and a teen boy takes the gun away from him. A teen girl builds a raft and floats along a river, she falls off the raft and she and an Ochi are pulled in the current and the teen swims into a large cave. A man yells, grabs a teen boy by the shirt and pushes him to the ground. A woman holds a gun on a teen boy to make him stand down. Several teens, boys and a man carrying guns search through dark woods for creatures; we hear heavy footfalls and see several creatures on rocks, and a couple of creatures appear to be eating something (we hear gnashing and slurping).
A man follows a teen girl and an Ochi through a cave, the man falls, his leg is pinned under a tree trunk and he yells in pain. An Ochi hisses and snarls at a teen girl and the teen puts in costume vampire teeth and hisses back at it; the teen bandages the Ochi’s injured leg and puts a splint on it. A wheel falls off a car as a teen girl drives and the car drives off the road and crashes into a ditch (we do not see injuries).
A man and several teens and boys with guns ride in a truck at night following radar signals indicating the location of creatures that they are hunting. A young Ochi follows an insect on the ground and eats it. A young Ochi sees a caterpillar in a tank, moves toward it and a teen girl yells for it not to eat it. A young Ochi tells a teen girl to try eating a bug and she does. A stuffed boar’s head is seen hanging on a wall. Several young teen boys take target practice with guns shooting bottles in the distance and two teens wrestle.
A woman is shown with a wooden hand and she remarks about a man cutting off her hand. A teen girl picks her nose and we see goo on her finger; a young Ochi tells her to try it and she does. A woman boils a bat and prepares a concoction that she says will give a teen girl immunity from Ochi bites; the teen yells when she is injected.
A man tells his teen daughter that her mother left them and “she doesn’t want you,” and the teen storms out of the house. A teen girl talks about wild creatures having destroyed her family. A teen girl talks about living on an island with wolves and bears. After an encounter with several Ochi, a man says, “We saw the devil.” A woman tells a teen girl that we cannot turn the Ochi into pets and complains about domesticating the wolf. A teen girl leaves a note for her father telling him that she doesn’t believe what he says about anything. A woman tells a teen girl that the teen’s father kept the woman from her. A man turns on a radio and it blasts very loud heavy metal music. A woman tells a teen girl that if she goes to a place it will lead to a “certain and unpleasant death.” A teen girl yells at a woman and throws things on the floor before storming away. A man reprimands several teens and boys about not having killed any Ochi. A man talks about the residents of an island being cursed and that they live in fear of the Ochi; he describes people and livestock being killed by them and he says that they took his wife.

CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
