"One of the 50 Coolest Websites...they simply tell it like it is" - TIME
The Three Musketeers | 1993 | PG | - 2.5.0
New version of the classic tale by Alexandre Dumas, on a grandiose Disney scale, with Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, Oliver Platt, Chris O'Donnell, Tim Curry and Rebecca De Mornay.
SEX/NUDITY 2 - Several shots of cleavage -- given the era and nature of the "very uplifting" period costumes for women. There are two aerial shots of De Mornay's breasts. Although she's fully clothed, the camera lingers on her chest and leaves little to the imagination.
VIOLENCE/GORE 5 - A prisoner is chained in a dungeon, begging for his life; he's later stabbed, off screen. A large wagon wheel falls on top of several men and kills them; there's no blood. There's lots of fancy sword fighting throughout: nothing too gruesome, but the body count does rack up by the end of the movie. During a sword fight, one man is hit with a rock tied to a long cord. The cord wraps around his neck several times until the rock hits him in the face and he is eventually strangled to death. Many men are shot to death and fall from their horses -- there's a close-up shot of a dead horse. There are a couple of dead bodies shown hanging from the sails of a ship. A man is shot with a bow and arrow through the heart. Sutherland is stabbed in the arm. Sheen is shot in the stomach. A man is stabbed through the chest with a sword; there's some blood. And several slapstick, but painful-looking occurrences: a woman is knocked off a ladder and falls several feet and a man is hit with a sand bag in the face and knocked off his horse. Several creepy dungeon prisoners with deformed faces may be scary for little kids.
