A young woman (Karen Valero) driving while texting strikes a 12-year-old boy (Caleb T. Thomas) and is sentenced to prison. Elsewhere, a teen girl collapses with a failed heart. SEX/NUDITY 1 - Two married couples hug briefly twice in different scenes. A woman kisses a man goodbye.
► An inmate in a women's prison wolf-whistles at a new inmate, who ignores it.
► A woman's snug-fitting T-shirt outlines her breasts. A woman wears a V-necked top, leans over a bed, and reveals cleavage.
VIOLENCE/GORE 4 - A woman warns her teen daughter about texting while driving but she texts while driving and a 12-year-old boy looks down at his cell phone while crossing a street in front of the girl's car, looks up and is startled as the screen goes black (we later see a broken cellphone lying on the pavement).
► We see an unconscious boy on his back in a hospital bed with a double air tube, an IV line in his hand and his head is bandaged and when a doctor says that he is brain dead, the boy's mother cries and his father becomes angry. We see a teenage girl lying unconscious in a hospital bed with a saline bag and a blood bag nearby and an IV line taped to her hand. A teen girl at home after a heart transplant holds her chest, grimaces in extreme pain and sits doubled over on a couch; she tells her mother she always feels as if she is passing out, cannot walk, and may never sing again.
► A teen girl shows a woman the upper part of her reddish surgery scar beneath her throat. A teen girl sings in front of an audience, her hands shake in close-up, and she collapses from heart failure.
► A pastor reads from a Bible as he walks behind a brain-dead boy's gurney toward a transplant operating room; the boy's family stops and they say goodbye to him, crying, and an unconscious teen girl is wheeled toward the same operating room.
► A man shouts at several doctors in a hospital. A woman cries and then argues with her husband in a hospital. A man shouts at doctors, demanding a second opinion about the need for a donor heart for his daughter. A husband and his wife argue in a hospital and the man goes to the bedside of his son, cries, and signs an organ donor permission form. A teen boy argues with his parents and is sent to his room. A man goes to his dead son's room and cries and talks to God. Two men argue loudly after one man accuses the other man's employees of being undocumented aliens (they are not). A man and woman argue and she shouts, "My son's death has to have a purpose!"
► A man in a restaurant hears that an employee was the person who struck his son with a car, killing him, and the man rushes out of the building. A 17-year-old girl in prison and her mother cry in a visiting area and we hear the girl is to be charged with vehicular manslaughter and will be very old when she is released from jail. A pastor's wife and congregation start a campaign for organ donation, but we do not see or hear about any patients.
► Two police officers approach a woman in a restaurant and she closes her eyes and backs away. A teen girl appears before a judge, crying; she shudders later in a corner of a holding cell and we see her led into a prison yard in handcuffs and later placed into a small cell with two older inmates who laugh at her as she cries. A teen girl walks through a dark prison hallway between guards.
► A graveside service at a cemetery includes mourners that we see briefly. A teen boy visits his younger brother's grave.
LANGUAGE 1 - Name-calling (crazy, squirt), 32 religious exclamations (Amen, I Am Going To Run Toward God, I Pray For God's Blessings).
SUBSTANCE USE - A woman swallows an unknown pill with water, and a nurse injects an unknown medication into a young boy's IV line in a hospital.
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Distracted driving, technology, over-use of social media, responsibility, tragic injuries, pain, death, loss, anger, grieving families, keeping promises, compassion, racism, organ donation, sacrifice, faith, forgiveness, understanding, community, love.
MESSAGE - Tragedy can bring strangers together in unexpected ways.
