Two women (Elisabeth Moss and Katherine Waterston) meet at a family lake house hoping to reconnect and recover from painful events in their lives. VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - A woman finds a man lying on the ground in the woods at night and one of his shoes is off; he does not appear to be injured when she takes him inside. A woman grabs a man around the neck from the back and he struggles to get her to let go (it's not really clear what she is trying to do), and she then falls to the floor crying when another woman walks in. A woman throws a cup at a man as he leaves a house and it breaks by his feet; another woman cuts herself when cleaning up the shards (no blood shows). A woman coughs and spits out food during a party; she falls to the floor and imagines people reaching toward her and putting their hands in her mouth until she screams and covers her head with her hands (people stand around looking at her until she gets up and leaves the room). A woman leaves something on the stove top and we see it in flames as another woman yells and puts the pot in the sink dousing the flames.
► A woman yells over the phone (we don't know who she is talking to). Two women yell at each other in a few scenes and insult each other. We see a woman's face in close-up with smeared makeup on her eyes and tears in her eyes as her boyfriend breaks up with her; she yells at him and cries, and then tells him to leave.
► A woman searches through another woman's backpack. A woman lies on a floor with empty bags of potato chips on the floor around her.
► A woman tells a man, "I could murder you right now and no one would know." A woman tells a man, "I hate you." A man makes reference to "After the accident." A woman tells another woman that she knows that she has been through a lot. A man tells a woman that the owners of a house where she is staying are "terrible people." A woman talks about her father being "afflicted" and that he was depressed. A woman complains that her face hurts in a few scenes; in one scene she says, "It's like bones are grinding underneath my skin." A woman says that she is hiding. A woman talks about a man breaking up with her when he and his previous girlfriend got back together and that he "broke my heart." A woman says that curiosity killed her father and her friend says, "Depression killed your father." A man tells a woman, "Be careful, you never know." A woman tells another woman, "Your dad was ripping people off." A woman says, "You're gonna make me throw up." A woman listens in while another woman is on the phone.
