VIOLENCE/GORE 4 - A man is kicked several times and then beaten with rifles. A woman is knocked to the ground and a man slaps a woman. A man smashes another man's head against a wall. A man and woman are fired upon and a boy is shot. A woman is cut by a sword and a woman is threatened with a gun. A gun battle leaves many people wounded or dead; a cannon is fired into a group of people and several people are killed by firing squad (some blood is evident). A man and a woman climb on a rooftop and nearly fall off. A man commits suicide by drowning himself. A runaway carriage crashes.
LANGUAGE 2 - One anatomical reference, several insults and mild obscenities.
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Stealing, poverty, prison, prostitution, determinism vs. free will, unfair social and political conditions, obsessive behavior.
MESSAGE - Criminals are not born criminally inclined; they become criminals due to poverty, hardships and society's indifference. A small act of mercy can have a tremendously beneficial effect in someone's life.
