The stories of several Los Angeles denizens, some of whom are wealthy and successful and others are not, set in the early 1980s. We follow their disparate lives, connected by a group of young men and women whose main endeavor is to party and do drugs. SEX/NUDITY 10 - A woman (her bare breasts, abdomen, legs and buttocks are visible) straddles a man (he's bare-chested) and thrusts on top of him, they moan and climax. Two men and two women go in a building, and another man goes in later and finds them all having sex together: they are all nude (bare breasts, buttocks, backs and chests are visible), the men are thrusting into the two women and the two women are kissing each other.
 A fully nude man (his genitals, bare chest, abdomen, legs and buttocks are visible) wakes up in bed with a teen boy and teem girl lying nude next to him; the girl's bare breasts and pubic region and the boy's his bare chest and buttocks are shown and it is implied that they all had sex.
 A woman wearing only bikini panties (her bare breasts are visible) dances over two bare-chested men, who are lying on the floor; she lies down between them, they begin to kiss and caress her and they are interrupted. A man and a woman kiss passionately in several scenes.
 Two men and a woman sleep fully nude (bare breasts, buttocks and genitals are visible and it is implied that they had sex). A younger man straddles a woman in bed after having had sex; he is nude and we see his bare back, abdomen, legs and buttocks when he gets out of bed.
 A man gets out of a bathtub and stands fully nude (his bare chest, abdomen, genitals and legs are seen from a distance, not fully in focus). Two women poolside are shown topless and their bare breasts are visible. A woman wears a short, low-cut dress that reveals cleavage, bare back and legs to the upper thigh in a few scenes. A woman gets out of bed wearing a full slip (cleavage and bare arms and back are visible). A man drops his pants (nothing is visible) and stands in front of a woman who injects him with a syringe. We see a painting of a nude woman (her bare back, buttocks and legs are shown). We see large photographs hanging in a funeral home of a man posing bare-chested. Men and women are shown in swimwear at a beach. A woman looks out her bedroom window and admires a bare-chested younger man, who's cleaning her swimming pool.
 A man leads a young woman (she could be a teen) into a room, closes the doors and sex is implied. A man finds a woman waiting for him in his bed (she is wearing panties and a tank top); he is seated across the room and he tells her to come to him and they kiss (please see the Violence/Gore category for more details).
 A man enters a women's public restroom, talks briefly to a woman, he tries to convince her to meet him somewhere later for sex, he caresses her face and leaves. A man flirts with two women at a bar (they all seem inebriated). Men and women dance together at a party.
 A man talks about a popular "macho star" traveling with three men, suggests that he is gay and implies that his son might also be gay. People talk about a man being a male prostitute. A woman describes a man as "hot." There is a TV news report about the beginning of HIV AIDS.

VIOLENCE/GORE 6 - A man standing on a street is struck by a car: we see him lying down with blood on his face and chest and holes in his shirt; a friend kneels over him and the wounded man touches his face streaking it with blood. A car strikes a man and then crashes into a parked car throwing the driver out and onto the roof of the other car (we see him lying motionless on the roof).
 A woman waits for a man in his hotel room, and when he comes they kiss, he grabs her by the throat and punches her hard in the face (the scene ends and it is not clear whether there is sex or continued violence).
 A man climbs out of a bathtub, steps on the wet tile floor, slips, and falls onto a bottle that breaks and cuts his hand (we see blood dribble and pool on the floor). A man cuts his hand with a knife (we see blood trickle down his hand and we see blood on his shirt and face later).
 We see a young boy bound and gagged lying in an empty bathtub (he whimpers and moans). A man drives next to a young boy on a skateboard, stops his van, grabs the boy and throws him inside. A young woman is shown lying almost catatonic in the back of a van (it's not clear whether she is drugged or severely upset). A man pushes his way into a house, grabs another man by the throat, shoves him against a wall and threatens him. A man pulls a knife out of his pocket and it is implied that he is going to kill a young boy.
 We hear gunshots in the street and hear that a man might have shot his wife. A man talks about someone paying for a young boy (it's not clear for what purpose). A man says, "I watched him bleed to death" speaking of a friend who died. A man and a woman yell at each other on the telephone. A man yells at another man in a couple of scenes. A woman becomes very agitated when she sees a man in a restaurant and she leaves. A TV news reporter refers to "Dead marines in Beirut." A woman talks about her dead son at his funeral, where people mourn. A man talks about another man "doing some bad stuff," and a man talks about a young woman having "seen some bad stuff." We hear that someone jumped off the roof of a hotel. A woman complains of not feeling well in several scenes.
 A man vomits (we hear gagging and see goo on his mouth). A man cleaning a swimming pool holds a dead rat by the tail after finding it in the filter. We see a sick woman with gray tinged skin and many bruises on her body. A man staggers off a stage, presumably due to the influence of drugs and alcohol.

LANGUAGE 10 - About 83 F-words, 17 scatological terms, 7 anatomical terms, 1 mild obscenity, name-calling (jerk, stoner, grody, idiot, selfish, Medusa), 4 religious profanities, 10 religious exclamations.

SUBSTANCE USE - Several people snort cocaine at a party, several people snort cocaine, a man snorts cocaine, two men snort cocaine in a car, a man and a woman smoke marijuana after having sex, three men smoke a marijuana cigarette together, a man staggers off a stage, presumably due to the influence of drugs and alcohol, a man tells another man to "take a lude," and a man is described as a drug dealer by his mother. A man drops his pants and stands in front of a woman who injects him with a syringe (it's not sure what's in it), and a woman takes a prescription drug in a few scenes. Many people smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol in many scenes throughout the movie, and a man smokes a cigarette and holds a bottle of beer, several people drink alcohol at a party, people drink alcohol while sitting by a pool, a man drinks alcohol and pours a glass for his college age son who drinks it, people drink alcohol with dinner, people drink alcohol at a bar, and a man a man drinks a beer. Several people smoke cigarettes at a party, a man smokes a cigarette by a pool, people smoke cigarettes in a restaurant, a man holds a burning cigarette, and two people ridicule a man for smoking a cigarette.

DISCUSSION TOPICS - Casual sex, sex with multiple partners, AIDS, infidelity, love, kidnapping, drug use and abuse, privilege, excess, divorce, truth, custody, drug dealing, second chances, jealousy, broken families, learning what is good and what is bad.
