VIOLENCE/GORE 2 - A group of animals execute a plan to free a really gigantic dog: one launches himself through the air, attaches a cable to a roof top, the other animals climb across and down the cable, sneak through a house, are trapped in an amusement park and are chased by men with nets; the animals crash into a gate, some men are knocked around, one crashes into a fountain, one is nearly hit by a train ride, and men with lassos are knocked down like bowling pins. A bus with animals in it begins to roll backward, down a steep, winding road, the animals are jostled, a man chases the bus, climbs in and is also tossed around. Three dogs are chased by police, they hide in an alley, and they run. A man dognaps a dog for his daughter to add to her collection of really big things. One animal tells another animal to go away and that he is not needed. Animals do carnival acts that include: A cow walks a tight-rope, a dog rides down a high ramp on roller blades, swirls through a spiral track, flies through the air and parachutes to the ground (after nearly hitting audience members), a ferret swings from a trapeze, and a Chihuahua lifts a very heavy barbell (he drops it on the stage making a hole in the floor). In one such act the ferret lands on the head of the cow while on the high wire, the cow wobbles, they begin to fall, juggling pins are dropped onto a man's head, the cow lands on the man and the ferret is catapulted through the air then comes crashing down on the man. Another act has the cow sneezing, falling from the high wire, grabbing the ferret who swings from a trapeze, they swing, the other animals grab on, they spin around, the tent is pulled down, they plunge toward the ground and are caught one-by-one before hitting. When a gigantic dog comes to a new town people and animals are frightened of him; the people run and scream, the animals hide and beg him not to eat them, and two men fall off a pier into water. Trees and the ground shake when a gigantic dog runs. A girl acts as if she's nauseous after riding a carnival ride. A man is sprayed with mud when a dog runs through a puddle. A gigantic dog licks other animals and humans and leaves them very soggy.

CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
