"One of the 50 Coolest Websites...they simply tell it like it is" - TIME
Bounce | 2000 | PG-13 | - 5.4.5
Ben Affleck plays an arrogant advertising executive who falls for a woman (Gwyneth Paltrow) whose husband has recently died in a plane accident. Also with Natasha Henstridge, Jennifer Grey, Tony Goldwyn, Joe Morton, David Paymer, Johnny Galecki, David Dorfman and Alex D. Linz. [1:45]
SEX/NUDITY 5 - A few instances of sexual innuendo and several kissing scenes, which are at times passionate. We see a man and woman in bed together post coitus; the man is in his boxer shorts and the woman is obviously naked but covered by a blanket (her bare shoulders are visible). A shirtless man and woman kiss passionately in bed; he takes her shirt off (we see her bare shoulders and possibly a brief glimpse the top of her bare breast) and it's implied they have sex.
VIOLENCE/GORE 4 - Much of the story revolves around a plane crash: We hear of a plane crash and see the flaming wreckage from a plane crash. An angry dog attacks a man, biting a hole in his pants and tearing his shirt. A drunken man falls off a stage. We see the back of a man urinating at a urinal.
LANGUAGE 5 - 1 F-word, several scatological references, some mild obscenities, and a few religious profanities.
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Loss of a husband, loss of a parent, death, grieving, alcoholism, honesty, casual sex, family, plane crashes, love, priorities, bravery, fear.
MESSAGE - Don't run from love. Grieve the loss of a loved one and move on, especially if another true love is calling.
CAVEATS
Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.
We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.
Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
Gladiator II - 2.7.2
Wicked: Part I - 3.4.2
