"One of the 50 Coolest Websites...they simply tell it like it is" - TIME
Alien 3 | 1992 | R | - 2.8.7
This time out Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) has to confront the alien on a lice-infested prison-planet made up of narrow tunnels.
SEX/NUDITY 2 - No sex was shown. Intimated sex between a man and a woman; they are shown in bed together apparently after sex, but they are both clothed.
VIOLENCE/GORE 8 - Lots of blood, and many gruesome scenes of the Alien killing its prey. An autopsy scene where we hear the cutting open of the body and the cracking of the breast bone and separation of the ribs. Even though there are no weapons, "Alien 3" is as gory as the first two installments.
LANGUAGE 7 - Initially, the inmates reprimand each other when they use profanity, but as the fear builds, they all partake in using the F-word and other assorted four-letter words.
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Weird religions.
MESSAGE - You cannot escape sequels.
CAVEATS
Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.
We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.
Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
