A man wearing a knee-length hospital gown dances in place and the camera cuts to his back to show us his back and wiggling hips for a few seconds. A man lifts his jersey to show a column of years tattooed on his chest and abdomen. A blind man in an arcade shoots basketballs but hits walls and narrowly misses people. An old man in a wheelchair is said to be on psychiatric lockdown and seems catatonic but catches a basketball and gets up and walks when someone puts his favorite shoes on his feet. An elderly preacher holds a baby over a baptismal pool, passes him around his body like a basketball, and is stopped from slam dunking the child into the water; he then puts a man into the pool and holds him under water several times. A man steps on and crushes the figurine top of a trophy. A man pops a large bubblegum bubble beside another man's face, angering the second man.
In a flashback, a man has a nightmare of losing a basketball game as an orphan, and everyone walking out on him. Basketball spectators shout and cheer loudly as men play ball, pushing and shoving. Two elderly men visit the grave of a woman among several tombstones in a grave yard.

CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
