One of Them Days VIOLENCE/GORE 4
– A man with a gun enters an apartment and when he slams the door, part of the ceiling falls and hits him on the head knocking him out; a candle on the floor is knocked over and sets the apartment on fire and the three people inside drag the unconscious man to a room where they are rescued by firefighters. Three men enter an apartment courtyard in a threatening manner and one pulls a gun from his waistband and shoots into the air causing many people gathered there to run away; he chases two women and continues shooting, hitting a car and shattering its window. A woman hits another woman in the face and they argue and fight: one woman is thrown over a bench and lands on the ground where the other woman straddles her and punches her and a third woman intervenes and the first woman elbows her in the face; the first woman slams the two women’s heads together and sits on one woman’s face (we see both women have bloody noses). A man wearing a mask runs through a drive-through window area and steals a bag of food in a couple of scenes; a woman in a car chases and crashes into him in one scene throwing him over the car hood (we see him motionless on the ground). A woman climbs a power pole to retrieve a pair of expensive shoes and is zapped by electricity; she falls to the ground and lands on another woman (we see them both in an ambulance but they seem OK later). A woman charges through her apartment to find another woman in a room with her boyfriend; they argue and the other woman tips over an aquarium that has a large lizard in it and runs away. A man tries to fix a dishwasher in a diner and it blows a powerful blast of steam at him throwing him into a wall (we see the wall dented and the man groans but seems to be OK). A woman climbs through a window and falls on the floor inside an apartment. A man and a woman chase two women through a city and the first woman accidentally slams into the door of a car as it is opened (she falls to the ground but seems OK). A woman donates several bags of blood for money and yells when she is poked in the arm with a needle; we see bags filling with blood and blood sprays around the room when another woman pulls the tube out of the first woman’s arm; more blood splatters on people in the room when full bags are stepped on. A man threatens a woman over the phone while we see two other men holding a man by the ankles over a balcony. Two women return home to find that they have been evicted and their possessions are piled on the sidewalk outside their apartment.
► A man pounds on an apartment door and a woman answers it angrily; he threatens to evict her if she doesn’t pay her rent. Two women argue bitterly and say hurtful things. Two women argue about paying their rent, and where the money that was to be used to pay it went; one woman threatens the other woman with physical violence. A man tries to convince two women not to get a payday loan and pounds on the window telling them to get out; we see photos on a wall of people that are titled “delinquent borrowers.” A woman laughs at another woman’s credit score saying she has never seen one so low.
► A man wears a T-shirt with the picture of a man on it and tells a woman that the man was killed by another man for looking at him. A man tells a woman that he “did some time in juvie.” Two women talk about people being killed in an apartment complex. A woman argues with a man about fixing her hair before an interview. Several people talk about getting a “white” neighbor in their apartment complex. A woman reminds another woman that she is lactose intolerant when she is going to eat food containing cheese and makes a remark about what is going to happen in the bathroom later.
► A dog defecates in a garden bed and we see the feces.

CAVEATS
Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.
We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.
Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
