It Ends with Us SEX/NUDITY 5
– A man and a woman kiss passionately, she straddles his lap and opens his shirt, she seems to reach into his pants and he lays her on a bed where he caresses her thigh and lies on top of her (sex is implied); the woman wakes up in the morning to the man kissing her. A teen boy and a teen girl kiss, she takes off his shirt and they lie back on a bed where he says that he doesn’t have a condom and is surprised when she says that she does (she says it’s from health class), and she says that she has never had sex before as he lies on top of her (sex is implied).
► A man and a woman kiss passionately, the man sits on a bed and the woman straddles him continuing to kiss, he kisses her abdomen and she says that she wants to stop saying that she is not interested in casual sex; the man gets up and removes his shirt and pants (we see his bare chest, abdomen, back and legs with boxer briefs), she removes her dress (we see her wearing a bra and stockings that reveal cleavage, bare abdomen and back), she puts on his pajamas and they lie in bed together to sleep. ► A man tells a woman whom he has just met that he wants to have sex with her; he tries to convince her, asking her how far she would go as he kisses her, caresses her hand and puts her hand on his knee (they are interrupted). A man and a woman flirt in many scenes with the man trying to convince the woman to be more than friends; the man asks to kiss her to get her off his mind, she relents, they kiss passionately and she walks away. A teen boy and a teen girl lie in a bed and kiss until they are interrupted by her father coming home (please see the Violence/Gore category for more details). After a teen girl makes a crude remark about a teen boy on a school bus, another teen girl tells him to stand up and she kisses him. A man proposes marriage to a woman and she accepts; they then kiss.
► Several flashbacks show a man and a woman arguing, the man pins the woman on a sofa and beats her (it is not clear if he rapes her) as their teen daughter watches from outside the room.
► A woman says that the first person that she had sex with was a homeless person. A woman tells a man that she suspected that he was an expensive prostitute. A man tells a woman, “Love isn’t for me, but lust is nice.” A man and a woman say, “We just talked,” when another man and woman suspect something more happened. A woman says that her brother runs through women like candy. A man tells a woman, “Date me.”
► A woman pushes during labor and we see a newborn with blood and goo placed on the woman’s chest. A woman wears low-cut cropped tops in several scenes that reveal cleavage and her bare abdomen. A teen girl wears low-cut tops that reveal cleavage in several scenes. Several women wear low-cut dresses at a party; one woman’s dress reveals cleavage, part of the side of her breasts, her bare back and stocking-covered legs to the upper thighs. A woman stands in a bathroom with a towel wrapped around her and we see cleavage and her bare shoulders. A woman’s bare abdomen is shown during an ultrasound and we see a fetus on a screen.
It Ends with Us VIOLENCE/GORE 5
– Several flashbacks show a man and a woman arguing, the man pins the woman on a sofa and beats her (it is not clear if he rapes her) as their teen daughter watches from outside the room. A man breaks his teen daughter’s bedroom door open and finds a teen boy in bed with her; the man throws the boy on the floor and punches him repeatedly (we see the boy on a stretcher with a very bloody face and head later). A man reaches into an oven to retrieve a hot dish when its contents are burning; a woman reaches toward him to help and he hits her across the face, knocking her to the floor (we see her bruised eye later), the dish falls on the floor and the man cuts his hand on the shards (we see blood and his hand is bandaged later). A woman hears a noise in another room and when she goes to see if a man is OK, she finds a lamp shattered on the floor and the man says that he found a man’s phone number in her phone; he stands up and slams the phone on the floor before storming out and the woman chases him down a flight of stairs before she falls and hits her head (we see blood on her head later, but she seems OK otherwise). A husband kisses his wife, she tells him to stop and he pushes her back on a sofa and pins her arms down as she pleads for him to stop (she flashes back to a scene when her father raped her mother); her husband won’t stop and he kisses her neck and apparently bites her on the collarbone (we see teeth marks later) and she pushes him off her and onto the floor and she storms out of the apartment and drives away in her car (we see her being examined in the hospital later). Two men shove and punch each other in a restaurant and run into other people before one man throws the other man out. A man kicks and throws a chair on a rooftop patio and a woman witnesses the scene.
► We hear that a man has never been the same after having shot and killed his brother when they were children. A man tells a woman that as a teen, he went to an abandoned building to kill himself, until he saw her in her window next door. A man describes watching a little boy die from a gunshot wound inflicted by his brother with a gun that they found in their house. A woman sits on a ledge on a rooftop patio and a man asks her to come down; when she won’t, he sits on the ledge with her. A teen girl makes a crude remark about a teen boy (please see the Sex/Nudity category for more details). A teen boy rushes out of a house when a teen girl’s father gets home. A woman returns home for her father’s funeral and is unable to speak in front of a large number of people at the service. A woman tells her adult daughter, “I would have killed for that job.” A teen boy says that his mother kicks him out of the house because she dates men that physically abuse her; we see a scar on his hand and he says that he got in the way once. A woman laughs at a man when he tells her that he is a neurosurgeon thinking that he is joking. A man laughs at a woman when she tells him her name is Lily Blossom Bloom and that she wants to open a flower shop. A man and a woman talk about maraschino cherries being, “pretty gross.”
