A man wears long johns while arguing with a police officer. A man sleeps shirtless and we see his bare back. The Independents VIOLENCE/GORE 2

A man pulls a van over on a road, runs into a field, and yells and curses in frustration.
A van makes clunking sounds and steam pours out from under the hood. Men driving in a van stop to pick up a hitchhiker and refer to the possibility that he is a psycho killer. A man walks along a grassy area and is nearly struck by a falling tree limb cut by another man in a tree. A man runs toward a van as several children run away and smoke wafts out from inside the vehicle; the man curses at the children and complains that they break in to smoke marijuana. A woman pounds on her floor in several scenes trying to quiet a man playing his guitar in the apartment below.
A man receives a phone call from his mother telling him that he needs to give up music and focus on his academic dissertation. A man says, “Digital destroyed music.” A man says that another man could have died from hypothermia. A man talks about having been on his way to his father’s memorial when two men picked him up; another man talks about his father also being dead. A man is sad when he finds out that the woman he is involved with is accepting a job in London and moving away. A man on a telephone call tells another man that he has to fire another man from their musical group. Three men play music and are accompanied by guitarists and a drummer that play loudly and the audience does not seem happy.
A man steals a blowtorch from a science lab. Two men fill their pockets with food from a motel breakfast buffet. Three men urinate at the side of a road and we see three streams and hear trickling. A man cleaning a sidewalk with water sprays another man walking past and we see his pants stained with water; people stare at him and laugh. CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
