Why is “Eternity” rated PG-13? The MPAA rating has been assigned for “sexual content and some strong language.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes a sex scene, a few kissing and embracing scenes, some partial nudity in photographs, a man choking on a pretzel and dying, a few scenes of people pushing and punching each other, a couple of scenes of people being chased by security guards, many discussions of death and causes of death, discussions of terminal illness, discussions of eternity, several arguments and at least 1 F-word and other strong language. Read our parents’ guide below for details on sexual content, violence & strong language.
After her death, a woman (Elizabeth Olsen) must choose where to spend her eternity and with whom: her first husband (Callum Turner) or her second husband (Miles Teller). Also with Da’Vine Joy Randolph, John Early, Olga Merediz and Betty Buckley. Directed by David Freyne. [Running Time: 1:52]
Eternity SEX/NUDITY 6
– A man and a woman kiss passionately, they are then shown in bed with the man thrusting on top of the woman, they kiss and breathe heavily (we see the man’s bare shoulders and partial chest). We hear a bed squeaking and see what looks like hips under a sheet thrusting rhythmically (implying that a man and a woman are having sex; it’s a scene of memories from the past).
► A woman moves close to a man at a bar and reaches into his lap; the man says that he is married and the woman is told to leave by the bartender. A man is pleasantly surprised when he realizes that he is no longer impotent when he reverts to a younger version of himself after he dies; he tells his wife, “Everything works here.”
► A man and a woman kiss passionately. A man leans close to a woman to kiss her and she pulls away gagging. A man and a woman embrace and kiss tenderly. A man carries a woman over a threshold and they kiss. A man and a woman hug. A woman caresses a man’s face and he holds her hand lovingly. A woman hugs a man while grieving. A woman snuggles into a man’s shoulder and they embrace.

► A man says that he slept with a few women and a couple of men and had a BDSM phase. A man and a woman talk about the idea of having children together and they talk about how “hot” the children would be; the man then says awkwardly that he “is not into hot kids” and then that he “is not into kids.” We hear that a man waited 67 years for a woman to die and join him in a junction. People comment about how attractive a man is in a photograph. A woman describes going “full lesbian” when she took a trip and then returned to her miserable old closet. A woman says that she and a man are in a relationship and suggests that they should try “poly.”
► A man finds many photos of scantily clad women wearing swimsuits on the inside of a closet door in a man’s room and makes a comment about his “porn collection” (we see cleavage, bare abdomens, partial bare breasts, buttocks and bare legs). A nudist colony is shown on a TV screen and we see nude men and women with genitals obscured (bare chests, abdomens, partial buttocks and legs are seen). Several people are shown wearing hospital gowns and we see some partial bare backs and a woman’s bra strap in one scene. A woman wears a low-cut blouse that reveals cleavage in many scenes. A woman adjusts the front of her dress and pushes up under her breasts. People wearing swimsuits sit on a beach (we see men with bare chests and women with cleavage and shoulders revealed).
Eternity VIOLENCE/GORE 3

A woman is chased by security guards and she climbs out of a clothes dryer, under a bed and onto railroad tracks before charging into a large lobby area.
► A man teases a young boy about his appearance and the boy says that he died when he was nine in a hit-and-run and the man is taken aback. A man and a woman say that they died in a gender reveal party and that there “was so much blood.” A man is told that if he does not make a choice for an eternity, he will end up in the void, which is described as blackness for eternity. A man wakes up on a train and is confused about where he is until he is told that he died and he is in a transition area; he is told that it is normal to feel disoriented and we see many people gathered in a lobby area where they are given options for choosing a place to spend their eternity. A woman wearing a helmet and dragging a parachute behind her walks through a lobby area (she might have died in a parachute accident). People talk about emotional blackmail. A wife accuses her husband of never wanting to have fun and only being happy when he is miserable. A man drives slowly and other drivers honk and yell as they pass him. A man and a woman argue and the man says that the woman loves to complain. A woman tells a man that he passed away and that he is dead.
