Drive-Away Dolls SEX/NUDITY 8

A briefcase is shown to contain five casts of erect penises in various shapes and sizes and we see them several times.
► A nude woman in a bed moans as another woman performs oral sex on her (we see the first woman’s bare breasts, abdomen and legs); they are interrupted by a phone call and the second woman pokes her head out from between the first woman’s legs. A woman moans and we see her moving rhythmically above a headboard (her bare shoulders are visible) and we see that she is straddling another woman (we see her partial bare back and buttocks) lying on the bed while performing oral sex on her. A woman answers the phone while having sex with another woman and the woman on the other end of the line becomes enraged (they then break up). Two women dance in a restaurant and kiss passionately; we then see them in a hotel room undressing (cleavage, bare shoulders and upper chests are visible), they kiss and one woman performs oral sex on the other (we hear moaning). A woman lies alone in a bed with one leg out from under the sheets; she moans until climax while using a sex aid under the covers. In a psychedelic interlude we see a shirtless man (bare chest and abdomen are seen) with a woman straddling him and sex is implied; we later understand that she has made a plaster cast of his erect penis. Two women kiss passionately in a shower (we see their bare shoulders, backs and feet); one leans against the frosted glass shower door while the other uses a sex aid (she pulls it off the bathroom counter and it makes a suction sound) and we hear moaning and we see the woman’s silhouette of her buttocks.
► Two women go to a hotel room where another woman is in a bed wearing pajamas and one of the first two women asks, “Is this is going to be a threesome?” and is disappointed with the answer; the woman in the bed leaves (sex is implied between the remaining two women). Many teenage girls are seen in a basement and kissing in couples; a whistle is blown, one teen says that they should change partners and they continue kissing and caressing. Two women kiss passionately in the front seat of a car. A woman touches another woman’s hand tenderly.
► A woman unscrews a plaque with a phallus attached to it from a wall when she and her girlfriend break up and the phallus moves around when manipulated. A woman cleans a hotel room and she screams when she finds a sex aid in a bed; we later see the aid tied with a red bow and left on the bathroom counter.
► A woman says, “Hey handsome. Wanna get plastered?” A woman asks a man at a registration counter in a hotel if they are “lesbian friendly.” A man describes a sexual encounter with a woman on the front porch swing of a house. A woman describes a sexual encounter in detail. A woman points to spots on her body that she would like as “first licks” while on a stage at a bar and lifts her shirt to reveal her bare abdomen while people in the audience cheer. A woman asks a man if he has any gay/lesbian listings so that she can find a bar.
► Many women in a bar wear low-cut dresses and tops that reveal cleavage, bare backs and shoulders. A woman wears tank tops in several scenes that show the outline of her nipples through the fabric. A woman wears a tank top with low-cut armholes that reveal part of the side of her breast. A man’s shirt hangs open and we see his bare chest and abdomen.
Drive-Away Dolls VIOLENCE/GORE 7
– A man leaves a bar and is chased by another man into an alley, where the second man stabs the first man in the neck with a corkscrew, the injured man screams and turns the corkscrew (he gurgles and spits blood) trying to remove it, and then is stabbed again with a pen before the first man presses his thumbs into his eyes while another man runs toward them carrying a handsaw.
► A man shoots two men several times each and we see blood spurt and stain their clothing; two women are tied and gagged nearby and the gunman threatens them but does not shoot. A man holding a gun enters a hotel room and two women in the room scream loudly. A man pulls a ski mask over his face and draws a gun as he approaches three women on a street; one of the women pulls a gun from inside a dog’s crate and shoots the man (he falls to the ground without visible blood) and a case containing a severed head is thrown in the air, the head rolls on the road when it hits the ground and people scream as a dog chases the head. Two men barge into a woman’s apartment and threaten her; she sprays one man with mace, kicks him, holds a baton across his throat until he falls to the floor and a small dog thrusts against his buttocks. A man hits another man hard in the head twice, he falls to the floor, he is beaten with a baton and kicked by two men, and we see him later on the floor with blood on his head and face (he seems unable to move). A woman yells at another woman on a stage in a bar and runs toward her, off-screen, and we hear a punch land; we later see a woman that had been on the stage with a bruised eye and she holds a package of frozen peas on the eye.
► A man threatens someone with violence in a few scenes. A woman walks alone at night through a residential neighborhood and a police car pulls up behind her; the officer questions her and she replies with a tone that the officer does not like and we see the woman sleeping in a jail cell. Two women argue about whether to call the police. A man asks two women, “Who are you,” and they reply, “Democrats.”
► Two women open the trunk of a rental vehicle and see a case and a box and when they open the box, they see a severed head surrounded by ice. A car tire blows while driving on the highway, the driver swerves, she and the passenger scream, and they pull off the road (no injuries or accident). Several interludes include psychedelic images swirling across the screen and implications of drug use; one includes an animated human skull laughing.

CAVEATS
Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.
We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.
Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
