Why is “Scream VI” rated R? The MPAA rating has been assigned for “strong bloody violence and language throughout, and brief drug use.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes an implied sex scene, a few kissing scenes, a reference to date rape, many scenes of people being stabbed frantically and repeatedly and finally slashed across the chest or neck leaving a lot of blood on the body and the surrounding area, a few gunshots leaving some bloody wounds, a few scenes from slasher movies, news reports of murder and carnage, many arguments, drug and alcohol use at a house party, and nearly 80 F-words and other strong language. Scream VI SEX/NUDITY 3

 – A woman goes into her apartment and hears noises; her roommate opens her door and asks if they are making too much noise (sex is implied).
► A woman grabs a man by the arm and they kiss passionately. Two women kiss. A man and a woman kiss in a few scenes.
► A man and a woman sit close together in a bed and nearly kiss before being interrupted and the man leaves. A woman puts her legs over another woman’s legs while they are sitting on a sofa and the second woman caresses them. A man takes a woman by the arm and invites her to his room at a house party; she agrees and another woman tries to stop them, they climb the stairs and a man asks him to let her go; they shove each other and another woman tasers the first man in the crotch.
► A woman says that she has been sleeping with a “…cute boy across the hall.” A woman watches a shirtless man in a neighboring apartment and another woman tells her she should speak to him. A woman waits for someone to join her at a bar. A man asks, “Am I gonna die a virgin?” A woman tells a man and another woman, “Just make out already.”
► A woman wears a tight-fitting dress and the upper part of the bodice is sheer. A woman wears an off-the-shoulder crop top that reveals her bare shoulder and abdomen in several scenes. A shirtless man is shown in his apartment several times (we see his bare chest, abdomen and back). A man is shown shirtless at a party (we see his bare chest, abdomen and back). Scream VI VIOLENCE/GORE 9

 – A person with a knife comes out of shadows and attacks a woman: the attacker is knocked to the ground and the woman with another woman run to a store where they ask for help; a man inside the store tries to intervene and is stabbed and thrown to the floor, another man shoots at the killer and is stabbed in the chest, and then shot (off-screen); the two women hide, push shelves over onto the killer and run out of the store as police arrive. A man calls a man on the phone and tells him to find him in their apartment, the second man searches and finds a dismembered body in the refrigerator as a person with a knife stabs him in the abdomen and then repeatedly (we see the body parts covered with blood and the second man with blood pouring from his mouth). A man calls a woman on the phone and explains that he is lost and cannot find where they are supposed to meet; the woman leaves, walks into an alley, someone with a knife jumps out of the shadows and stabs her in the abdomen, and then repeatedly as she screams and blood pours from the wounds and her mouth. A man answers a knock at his door late at night, the person outside the door shatters the glass, reaches through to grab the man and slams his head against the iron work on the door, and then stabs him in the face (we see his bloody face and the knife as he falls back on the floor dead). We hear noises coming from a bedroom, we see a blurry cell phone picture of a woman being attacked in her room, we hear screams and a woman’s blood-soaked body falls through the door (we see a bloody slash on her throat); a woman is held on the floor and choked, then stabbed in the abdomen while being held against a wall (the blade is twisted and blood pours from the wound), another woman’s arm is slashed (we see blood), and a man is shown dead in a bathtub with blood spray all around the room. A man is grabbed in the background of a scene and then thrown through a bookcase and lands dead on the floor; the killer holding two knives lunges toward a woman, she runs to the kitchen and hits the killer with a skillet, locks herself in a room where she arms herself with a gun and shoots through the door; she opens the door and the killer is not there, she shoots through another door and the killer lunges toward her stabbing her twice, she raises a knife over the killer and she is stabbed in the abdomen, pinned to the floor with a knife held over her until we hear gunshots and the killer runs away. A woman is stabbed in the back, a man punches the attacker, they fight and the killer slashes the knife toward the man several times; the man tackles the attacker and throws a heavy camera, and the man is held between two attackers that stab him repeatedly (we see blood pouring from wounds and his mouth). Several people are separated at a busy subway station and one woman is trapped in a train car by a killer and stabbed in the abdomen as her screams are muffled and many people are around but oblivious (we see her bloody wounds).
► Three people crawl across a ladder between two apartment buildings several floors off the ground; the final person falls to her death and slams into a dumpster (we see her face badly broken and bloody and a pool of blood forming around her body) when the ladder is tipped. A man is shot, and a woman is shot at and falls over a balcony; another woman holds her by the arm and drops her to the floor below where she is stabbed in the abdomen, and she stabs her attacker in the mouth and twists the knife (blood pours). A woman is struck in the face with a brick and spits blood and teeth out of her mouth. A woman charges a man and they both fall over a balcony (we see him with bloody wounds on his head later). A man is stabbed in the eye (we see blood) and he falls back gagging and twitching.
► A woman takes a swing at another woman and the second woman ducks to avoid the blow; a third woman then punches the second woman hard in the face. A woman throws a drink on another woman and calls her a “murderer,” then says, “You know what you did,” as the other woman lunges for her and they yell at each other. A woman becomes upset when she realizes that another woman went to a campus party and did not take her taser with her. People walk through an abandoned movie theater where slasher movie memorabilia is on display, including bloody weapons and drawings of victims. Two women steal a police car and drive with lights and sirens. A man shoots many mannequin heads.
► A man describes how it felt to kill a woman and says that it felt like she was not human, but an animal and eventually just meat. A man asks a woman about her “new meds” and about an abusive relationship she had with her father; she describes an incident where she killed someone and says, “I stabbed him 22 times, then slit his throat and shot him.” People talk about nearly being murdered at a house party. We hear several news reports of mutilated bodies being found. A voice on the phone says, “I gutted them before they had the chance.” Several people talk about slasher movies and movie franchises. People say, “No one is safe.” A woman says that she is “hated.” A man cries over the death of his family members and says, “You mess with my family, I’ll kill you.” A woman imagines hearing the voice of her father. A voice on a phone talks about punishing two women and how they will choke on their own blood. People plan a trap for a killer.
► We see a woman’s driver’s license found in a puddle of blood at a crime scene. A woman makes gagging sounds (she does not vomit).
