Why is “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” rated PG-13? The MPAA rating has been assigned for “sequences of monster action violence and destruction, and for some language.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes a couple of sexual references, many scenes of giant monsters fighting each other and causing a lot of property damage with a few scenes implying the death of monsters and/or characters off-screen and causing a few slightly bloody injuries, and at least 2 F-words. Sequel to 2014’s Godzilla: Scientists are working on a device that will allow them to communicate with super-monsters when an eco-terrorist (Charles Dance) steals the device, planning to let loose the dormant monsters in order to punish humanity. The leader (Kyle Chandler) of the crypto-zoological company Monarch and its employees must find a way for humanity to survive. Also with Ken Watanabe, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Thomas Middleditch, Aisha Hinds, O’Shea Jackson Jr., David Strathairn and Zhang Ziyi. Godzilla: King of the Monsters SEX/NUDITY 1

 – A man and a woman hug for several seconds.
► A man asks if a female monster and a male monster have “a thing going on” because they can communicate (no answer is given). A man tells a group he will show a film of monsters mating, with the “genitals blocked out” of the film (we never see it). A man says monsters are hunting for “something more intimate.” A man mispronounces a monster’s name as “gonorrhea.”

 - Godzilla is a several-stories tall reptile with tiny front legs, small head, sharp teeth, large scaly sharp plates on its back and it fights with three other giant beasts several times, including a bioluminescent moth with large mouth parts and large furry legs, a pterodactyl covered with feathery scales, and a three-headed winged dragon that breathes fire and shoots electric bolts from its three mouths; each confrontation includes loud roaring, screeching, some tail-slashing strikes, bites with huge spiked teeth, some wing slaps, slashing with claws that cause glowing red lights on skin instead of blood and tumbling that causes reverberations in the ground.
► A huge insect egg in a lab pulsates and bursts open with a giant larva clicking and chirping, resembling a caterpillar; men fire electric rifles at it and it screeches as it sends electric bolts to knock them down, it picks up one man and throws him against a background wall (we see no blood), it growls and a woman plays whale song sounds that quiet the larva until mercenary soldiers and an eco-terrorist barge in with rifles, kidnap the woman and her teen daughter and a glass wall shatters allowing the larva to escape off-screen. A monster picks up another monster, takes it into the sky and drops it to the ground with a loud crash and a fire; buildings crumble as a monster stomps along the ground and a woman uses a communication sound machine to draw the monsters out of a city and her car falls on its side and slides as we hear screeching metal; a monster is shown in close-up with many sharp teeth ready to bite the woman as another glowing monster stomps across the screen and smashes the other monster away and out of the frame.
► Soldiers storm a compound and a gunfight with mercenaries ensues: many men fall (no blood is shown), a man with a handgun shoots another man in the chest and some blood flows, and a woman argues with the shooter and pushes a button on a remote to explode ice with a loud boom releasing a monster as people run and some fall off-screen from a catwalk; the monster breathes fire and chases people, causing fires, a smoke cloud and tall flames appear, men shoot at the monster as we see a close-up of the monster with a spiky tail and three dragon heads, one of which bites another (no blood flows) and the it roars and screeches; the monster chases men and women into a large helicopter, breathing electric bolts at them and breaking a window in the chopper until it turns away and the ground glows blue as another monster comes up out of the ice and the two monsters fight; a helicopter slides across the ice, a few men and a woman fall to the ground, the monsters bite each other without blood flow, shoot fire and electric bolts and each one falls shaking the ground, jet fighters fire missiles to no avail and we see several muffled explosions as one of the monsters leaves and the scene ends.
► Frightened people in a city run away as a volcano in the distance opens a metal door in the top to spew smoke, fire, lava and release a shrieking hawk-headed monster that flies and chases people; buildings collapse and a windstorm blows throwing two teen boys, two cars are sucked into the wind and jets approach and fire missiles to no avail as the monster grabs a jet and tosses it away, a pilot ejects from another jet that falls away and crashes into the monster's mouth as it fires lightning at jets and another monster appears; the two monsters fight colliding and shooting electric bolts at each other, shrieking, and a military official announces that an exterminator missile will launch to kill everything within two miles.
► Shrieks sound off-screen and a metal door inside a lab lowers to show a glass wall with a monster outside (its eyes glow and it makes whale sounds), a man approaches the glass and the monster shrieks and rushes away. Shrieks sound off-screen as a building shakes and things inside shake and rattle.
► A large helicopter crash-lands into a large plane's cargo bay (no one is hurt); people shout and argue inside as a monster flies near the plane and another monster smacks it down as a missile explodes and a monster falls unconscious, its vital signs flat-line on a monitor in the plane and a monster in close-up shows a missing head until a slimy mass appears and transforms into a new head.
► A smoke storm rises around a city, it rains, and a monster stomps through the area causing buildings to fall; three lasers strike the three necks of a monster, another monster knocks it down and they fight and fall as jets approach and shoot (they miss), another monster squeaks loudly, fires lasers and lightning and one of the other monsters shrieks loudly, fires anti-gravity beams from its mouths and pushes one of the other monsters off-screen.
► Hurricane winds blow through a city and buildings explode into fireballs and collapse, a large glass wall shatters loudly, a monster fights another monster on the ground where they both fall, one monster bites through an electric tower, sending sparks flying and then uses its three heads to bite the other monster, whose skin glows red at the bite sites but does not bleed. A monster fights another monster and stabs it through the body and out the back with a pointed foot and it falls off-screen.
► A scientist talks of space aliens and on a monitor sees a monster lying in an air pocket; a man takes a nuclear warhead in a mini-sub and enters the air pocket, sets the timer on the device, removes his helmet, and pets a monster on the face as a huge nuclear explosion spews fire and light underwater, throwing the man off-screen (he's likely dead) and the monster gets up with glowing red in places, the water glows and the monster swims away.
► A giant glowing caterpillar appears inside a waterfall and changes into a giant glowing moth with a wide wingspan and it sings a high-pitched whale song; it flies away to join a monster and the two rush off to confront two other monsters as the Army and scientists gather nuclear weapons to help in the fight.
► A flashback features monsters shrieking off-screen as a city burns to the ground (we see rubble among many small fires); men shout and the scene cuts to film of protestors holding signs reading "Kill Titans." Silent film footage shows monsters including a giant two-trunked mammoth, two arachnids, and a giant ape walking through cities causing people to run through streets in fear.
► A woman and a teen girl are kidnapped and taken to Antarctica by helicopter where mercenaries leave the chopper and we hear a lot of machine gun fire off-screen (we see dead bodies lying in shadows at night; no blood is seen). A woman points a handgun at a man. A woman drives a jeep through a metal gate. A man and a woman find a teen girl in a bathtub under a section of a wall, pull her out and she gasps and shouts in fear.
► A woman broadcasts a whale song with a device to draw monsters to a city as her teen daughter screams and cries. A man awakens in a hospital bed inside a lab where he and a woman argue via a large screen; she says super-monsters are radioactive and will use the energy to restore the Earth and he shouts that she is wrong. We hear that 17 monsters are awake and roaming. A man shouts at a teen girl. A man and a woman argue for several seconds. Two men shout at each other. An angry man shouts at a man and a woman and all three argue. Three different men shout that soldiers and scientists should kill monsters. After the end credits a character is led into a cave where we see a huge reptilian body lying on the floor (the head is not visible) and says in close-up, "We'll take him."
► A monster climbs to the top of a pile of rubble and roars into the sky as four other monsters approach and bow to it. A submarine shakes and people fall inside (they are unhurt) as they send out probes that find an underwater structure with wall carvings and paintings of monsters with people worshipping them.
► Three wolves in close-up eat a dead animal as we hear and see them ripping flesh from the body (we see raw muscle and some gore).
