Romantic adventure based on the 1963 Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn film "Charade": While in Paris, a young woman (Thandie Newton) who's about to divorce her art-dealer husband, discovers that he's dead and all their money is gone. That's when she meets a mysterious man (Mark Wahlberg), who tells her that their money was really his, and he wants it back. He's seemingly convinced that she's hiding it, but many twists and turns later it's evident that he's hiding something too. Also with Tim Robbins, Christine Boisson and Stephen Dillane. [1:44]
SEX/NUDITY 4 - A woman dresses and we see her bare thighs as she puts on stockings, and her bare back and the side of her bare breast as a man watches and they kiss. A man and a woman kiss a couple of times and moan. A man and a woman kiss in bed. A woman showers and we can see a flesh-toned silhouette through the patterned shower curtain, and her bare shoulders and back. A woman kisses a man. A man and a woman dance and hold each other close. Men and women dance the tango at a club, and they change partners during the dance. A man takes off his shirt to change and we see his bare chest briefly. A man and a woman flirt in a few scenes, and a woman tells another woman that she has a crush on her. A woman wears a camisole and panties. A woman lies back on a bed and her top exposes cleavage and her bare abdomen. We see a few women in swim attire that exposes cleavage and bare abdomens. A man reports that a boy was caught spying in a women's changing cabana. A woman asks a man, "What kind of man gets to go to bed with her?" and a woman says to a man, "You just want to get in her pants."
VIOLENCE/GORE 5 - We hear about an ambush during a military operation and see some scenes with explosions, people being thrown through the air, and bodies lying on the ground with bloody wounds. A woman is nearly run down by a car, and she is shoved out of the way by another woman, who is then hit: we see her after she's thrown through a window with blood on her face and nose and watch her die (there is a flashback to this scene later). A man convulses, gasps for air, and falls dead on top of another man (we hear that it was heart failure and we see a flashback to this scene later). We hear a man choking and a thud (he presumably dies from poisoned food). A man attacks a woman in an elevator, and another man pulls him out of the elevator and beats him up. Two men run through streets knocking people down, tackling each other, they run into a hotel where they drag each other down stairs and one is beaten and shown unconscious with a very bloody face and head. A woman discovers a man ransacking her room with a knife in his hand, she runs and he chases her through streets. Several people hold guns on a man who holds a woman by the neck with a gun to her head. A woman walks through a deserted flea market and is threatened by another woman. A man does a cavity search of a dead body (we only hear squishing and crunching). A woman shoves a man against a wall and holds him by the crotch. A man jumps at a woman and holds his hand over her mouth while she screams. A woman panics and runs frantically through a ransacked house; items are splintered and mattresses torn to shreds. A woman talks about a boy and his mother having been abused by his father, and about the father having fallen out of a window to his death. A woman identifies a body in a morgue; we see other people looking at the same body throughout the movie although we do not see the body. A man has acupuncture needles sticking out of his ear during one scene. A man gasps for air as he walks through the smoking car of a train.
LANGUAGE 5 - 1 mouthed F-word, 2 scatological terms, 1 mild obscenity, 1 religious exclamation.
SUBSTANCE USE - People are shown smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol.
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Covert government operations, greed, deception, betrayal, theft, love, child and spousal abuse.
