An unmarried woman (Heather Locklear) and her two daughters change addresses every time the woman goes through a romantic break up. They have moved a lot over the years, and one of the daughters (Hilary Duff) has had enough. In order to try to make her mother stay put and boost her self-esteem, she invents the perfect man -- an imaginary secret admirer who communicates through e-mails, notes, and gifts. When the lies compound themselves, the daughter has to produce a real man, and a local restaurateur (Chris Noth) seems to fit the bill. Also with Aria Wallace and Caroline Rhea.
