"One of the 50 Coolest Websites...they simply tell it like it is" - TIME
Driven | 2001 | PG-13 | - 3.5.5
Sylvester Stallone plays an aging race car driver who must mentor a young new driver (Kip Pardue) to satisfy their coach's (Burt Reynolds) obsessive drive to win. Also with Til Schweiger, Stacy Edwards, Estella Warren, Gina Gershon, Robert Sean Leonard and Cristián de la Fuente. [2:00]
SEX/NUDITY 3 - Mild kissing and a few instances of sexual innuendo. Three women wear tight shorts and we see part of the bottoms of their buttocks sticking out. A woman in a one-piece bathing suit swims and we see shots of her crotch and buttocks (covered by the suit). The wind blows a woman's skirt up and we see her underwear. Several shots of cleavage.
VIOLENCE/GORE 5 - Several shots of racing cars crashing at high-speed. A car crashes into a wall, catches fire, and breaks into many pieces. Two cars collide head-on; one car catches fire, flies into the air and smacks the ground upside down. A car crashes into a wall, flips upside down, breaks into many pieces and nose-dives into another car moving at high speed. A car crashes into a bunch of tires and then slams into another car and falls to pieces. Two cars crash into one another and both break into many pieces. A car crashes into a wall and flies out of the racing area and into a pond; the car catches fire and the driver seems to drown to death but doesn't; the pond, however, does catch fire from leaking fuel and we see a big explosion. A man has a cut on his head with blood running out of it. A man in a hospital bed has a badly bruised face (black eyes and cheeks) and arm, from an auto accident. Two cars drive fast and recklessly through a crowd and the streets of downtown Chicago, nearly hitting many other cars and trucks. A woman punches a man in the face.
LANGUAGE 5 - One mouthed but inaudible F-word, some anatomical references, a few scatological references, several mild obscenities, a few religious profanities and insults.
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Professional auto racing, winning vs. losing, competition, love, relationships, regret, unselfishness vs. selfishness, money, success, winning at all costs.
MESSAGE - The real winners in the world are team players able to let go of personal pride.
