Werewolves SEX/NUDITY 1

 – A man and a woman kiss tenderly.
People are shown wearing underwear while locked in cages (we see bare shoulders, chests, abdomens and legs on men, and one woman’s cleavage). A woman wears a cropped tank top that reveals cleavage, bare shoulders and partial bare abdomen. A man wears a tank T-shirt that reveals his bare shoulders and partial chest. A shirtless man is shown and we see his bare shoulders, chest and abdomen.

Werewolves VIOLENCE/GORE 8

 – A person in a lab shoots at several people that have transformed into werewolves and are prowling the area and surround the remaining non-transformed people; one person is thrown through an observation window and lands on the floor very bloody; a person’s face is ripped off his skull as he screams and we see blood and matter, a werewolf pounds on a door and we hear that it is shot repeatedly as blood pours under the door’s threshold. A teen girl stands at a gate outside a woman’s house and asks for help while covering herself with a sheet to avoid the moonlight; we see on a security monitor as the teen is snatched away by a werewolf and we later see her being torn apart while she screams (we see her bloody flesh, organs and tissue). A man walks into the moonlight to face a werewolf and we see him transform; his clothing tears as he growls large, sharp teeth and claws grow and fur sprouts on his flesh; the two werewolves fight and one rips the head off the other (we see it separate with blood and tissue dripping and dangling). A man and woman walk through dark tunnels and reach a locked gate; a werewolf lowers behind them and lunges toward them, the man shoots it, he is thrown and when the werewolf tries to jump on him, the man impales it with a rod and blood gushes from the wound.
A man in a cage transforms to a werewolf and we see him thrashing his head back as veins bulge on his neck and chest, his arms grow larger, dark fur appears on them, and sharp claws appear on his hands; other test subjects transform and we see their faces stretching and long sharp teeth erupting from their mouths, and one man’s hand snaps backward at the wrist unnaturally during transformation. A man in a safety suit falls to the floor saying that his suit has been compromised, he is exposed to the moonlight and transforms: we see his face changing with dark veins and sharp teeth as he thrashes and he slashes another person wearing a suit across the chest; the injured person yells that he can’t breathe and we see a lot of blood pouring from the slash. A young woman hears low growling coming from a darkened room and backs into another room where a large werewolf stands and growls in her direction.
A woman stands alone and calls for werewolves to come; one large wolf approaches her and she stands quietly, then yells loudly in its face, it then roars at her and a man shoots it repeatedly (we see bloody holes open in its body as it thrashes and falls dead). A woman holds a knife as a werewolf breaks into her house and a young girl sprays the creature with something; the werewolf throws the woman and she hits it in the head with a pickaxe killing it.
A werewolf presses a teen’s body against an electrified fence trying to short it out (we see sparks). A werewolf is sprayed in the face with capsaicin and it howls in pain. A man hears squishing sounds and finds a child mid-transformation eating a cat and the man points his gun at the child threatening to shoot her until a woman tasers her in the back and she falls to the floor. Several werewolves are shocked by an electrified fence until one wolf topples a pole knocking out the power. Many people with mounted and handheld machine guns shoot at werewolves in the streets. A person is pulled underneath a car and we see a thick smear of blood on the ground. A werewolf enters a woman’s house and appears threatening; the woman is pushed to the floor and she shoots a hole in the wall to let sunlight in, causing the werewolf to transform to human form.
A man with a gun watches a werewolf perched in a tree and shoots at it; a werewolf throws a refrigerator through his window and the man is thrown against a wall and is slumped on the floor as the werewolf enters and the man screams as he transforms after being struck by moonlight. A woman opens the door of a truck to step inside and is lifted off the ground by a werewolf (we do not see her again). A woman and a young girl hide in a house as werewolves enter and search through; a man in a car outside honks the horn and several werewolves move toward him as he speeds the car into them and hits a few; one werewolf lands on the hood of the car and the man speeds into a wall pinning the creature.
A man speeds through streets in a car and is distracted by a phone call; he slams his car into the side of a bus and we see it in flames as he and a woman climb out and run through streets, away from werewolves. A man and a woman shoot a werewolf as they speed away in a car. A man and a woman move through cars in flames on a street trying to avoid werewolves; they hide underneath a car as one climbs on the car and sniffs under the car (they are not discovered). A man’s alarm rings on his watch and werewolves hear the sound and chase him and a woman; they slide under a security gate as it closes and plan to get to a series of tunnels but are surrounded by many people inside and one person holds a sword to the woman’s throat. A woman shoots a shotgun into the ceiling and at a wall trying to kill werewolves prowling outside. Werewolves outside a house disconnect security cameras and a woman and a child are unable to see outside. A woman holds a loaded shotgun as she hears loud footfalls on her roof and noises at her doors and windows. A man takes target practice with an automatic weapon in his backyard and another man tells him to stop for fear of shooting the people next door.
A hatch in a ceiling of a laboratory opens to allow moonlight into an area where test subjects are seen in cages; they are bathed in moonlight and show no sign of transformation. Several people (test subjects) are shown in chains and in cages as they are prepared to be exposed to moonlight; they are sprayed with a chemical that is supposed to keep them from transforming. A man pounds on his chest and yells. A man shows a woman how to load and ready a shotgun. A man prepares a house with booby traps to keep werewolves away from a woman and a child inside (we see boards with nails in them, an electrified fence, security cameras, a barrel of capsaicin, and heavy gauge animal traps). Several test subjects are given eye drops and then sprayed with a chemical; one man laughs maniacally while a woman pleads to be let out saying that she changed her mind. We hear wolves howling in the darkness and something is seen darting across a security monitor.
We hear about people violently transforming into werewolves when exposed to moonlight. People talk about moonlight causing a rapid DNA mutation. Several people put on heavy protective suits and helmets to keep them from being exposed to moonlight; one man in a suit appears to be very nervous.
A young girl tells a man, “I don’t want to die” and he tells her that she will be OK. A young man holds a sign that reads, “Only the evil turn. Repent.” A man paints his face with red, white and blue stripes and he wears a flak jacket painted with the words, “Wolf Killer.” A reference is made to someone being like an addict without a fix. A man with a slash across his chest is laid on an exam table and dies while two other people try to compress the wound. A man has scars on his abdomen (we are not told what they are from, but assume they are from transformations).

CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
