The MPAA rating has been assigned for “language and some sexual material.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes an implied sex scene between teens, an interrupted sex scene, several kissing scenes, a scuffle between two men, a robbery, many arguments and insults, and nearly 40 F-words and other strong language. When a young man (Jacob Ward) is under pressure to work for the family business after graduating from high school, his concerned father (Ray Romano) also tries to convince him to pursue a basketball scholarship. Somewhere in Queens SEX/NUDITY 5

 – A teen boy and a teen girl park in a secluded area and kiss, the girl teaches into the boy’s pants and he unfastens his belt, gets out of the car to get in the back seat and she locks the door as a joke (we see his boxer shorts); a man with a dog walks by as the boy jumps into the car, and they then kiss passionately and lean back on the seat as the scene ends (sex is implied). A husband and his wife kiss, he puts her hand on his groin and she exclaims, “There’s a bone in there,” and they kiss passionately but are interrupted.
 A man and a woman kiss at their wedding reception. A woman brushes dirt off a man’s face and touches him tenderly. A woman cleans cuts on a man’s hand and face and they sit on a bed together, she moves closer to him and kisses him; he tells her that they cannot have sex and leaves.
 A teen girl asks a teen boy why they haven’t had sex yet and he says that has never had sex. A woman asks her husband if a colleague showed him porn again. A man describes the first time he had sex and that he did it wrong but didn’t realize it, saying that he had sex with the girl’s legs. Three men talk about a teen couple having sex (two predict that they are and the third denies it). A teen boy tells a teen girl that he can’t have sex with her until after a tryout because sex makes legs weak. A man yells, “We didn’t have sex” when he leaves a woman’s apartment. A woman tells three men to forgive her if she groans while doing yoga and one man says, “I kinda hope she moans.” Women talk about having sex with their husbands and that they need wine before they can have sex. A woman says that her daughter and son-in-law had better get pregnant soon so she will have something to do. A woman is surprised when she is introduced to a teen girl and she learns that she is her son’s girlfriend.
 People dance with thrusting and hip gyrating gestures at a wedding reception and other parties.
 Women wear low-cut dresses and tops that reveal cleavage and bare shoulders in several scenes. A teen girl wears a crop top that reveals cleavage and partial bare abdomen in a couple of scenes.

Somewhere in Queens VIOLENCE/GORE 3

 – Two men argue and wrestle on a sidewalk, one man’s jacket tears and he tries to take the other man’s jacket causing them to fall into a potted plant breaking the pot (one man has a cut on his face and hand). People argue at a restaurant during a party; a man yells and throws a spoon on a table and his wife throws cake in his face.
 We understand that a woman is in remission from breast cancer and she talks about chemotherapy; she yells at her doctor when he dismisses her concerns about a lump she feels and he says it’s scar tissue and doesn’t think a sonogram is necessary. A husband and his wife argue in several scenes, sometimes bitterly. A teen boy is broken-hearted when a teen girl breaks up with him. When a woman sees a teen girl kissing a teen boy she tells her husband on the phone that she is going to punch her in the face. A man walks in the rain and throws bottles at a construction trailer outside an apartment building. A man yells at another man for leaving a construction trailer unlocked because it was broken into.
 A man offers a teen girl money or a car to go back to dating his son until a scholarship tryout. A young man talks about feeling invisible. People give a young man a hard time about being quiet. A man teases a woman about not being married and breaking her mother’s heart and she yells at him. We hear that there are seven young men competing for one college basketball scholarship. A woman talks about her husband dying. A woman says that she does not like her son’s girlfriend. A teen boy tells his father that he couldn’t understand how he feels, and says, “No one ever forgot about you.” A man says that his son didn’t talk until he was a 4-year-old. A woman talks about shaving her head when she underwent chemotherapy and that her husband said that she looked like a mutant. A reference is made to a teen boy being like leading a lamb to slaughter.
 A woman says that her husband is going to throw up in the car after he drinks a lot at a party (we do not see him vomit). A man talks about cow flatulence being bad for the planet.
