A man (Owen Wilson) takes his wife (Lake Bell) and two young daughters (Sterling Jerins and Claire Geare) overseas, where he thinks that his company is helping to provide clean drinking water to the denizens. Shortly after they arrive he realizes that the local people don't see their presence as positive and they must flee for their lives. Also with Pierce Brosnan, Thanawut Kasro, Chatchawai Kamonsakpitak and Sahajak Boonthanakit. Directed by John Erick Dowdle. Several lines of dialogue are spoken in a foreign language with no subtitles and a couple are in French and are translated into English. [1:43]

SEX/NUDITY 4 - A woman is held by several men who tear open her clothing and one man presses himself between her legs as he unbuckles his pants (we see her bare legs and part of her bare buttock as she struggles to get away); the men are distracted by other men entering and yelling and no rape occurs.
 A woman wears a low-cut dress that reveals cleavage. A woman's top falls open to reveal her bathing suit top and cleavage. Several women are shown dancing in a hotel common area.
 A man makes a few comments about coming to an Asian country for the women and that they do anything to please. A man says that what he does for a living, "Doesn't sound very sexy."

VIOLENCE/GORE 8 - A man confronts several other men who have killed several people in a hotel and he draws a knife, and then slashes his own throat (blood splatters on a white sheet as he falls to the floor dead). A man with a machete hacks another man to death; we see blood spray and we hear thuds as the blade hits the victim and squishes of blood and flesh. A woman looks through the peephole of her hotel room door and sees men with machetes hacking at people in another room; the men are splattered with blood and we see the bloody bodies of the victims later. A man sees men with machetes inside a hotel dining room and hacking down toward the floor where there are presumably people being hacked to death. A man runs up a flight of stairs and he is charged by a man with a machete; another man beats the armed man and throws him down the flight of stairs and into other armed men coming up. A family of four runs through hotel hallways as they are shot at and step over dead and blood-soaked bodies to get to the roof. We see two dead bodies being dragged behind a truck and their faces and heads are bloody.
 Gunshots ring out in a hotel and we see dead bodies with blood pooled on the floor under them as a man runs through trying to get to a dignitary, whom he also finds dead with a puddle of blood under his body. A man walking through a market sees a large number of police in riot gear at one end of the street and a large number of people with sticks and other weapons at the other end of the street; one man raises a Molotov cocktail over his head and he is shot by an officer and he falls and it ignited by the flaming container (we see him thrashing on the ground as the two groups charge toward each other and fight as other people run for cover). A man is forced to his knees by a mob of men and one of the men shoots him in the back of the head (we see blood spray and he falls forward). A helicopter approaches a hotel rooftop and people gathered there move toward it until it turns and opens fire on them; we see several people shot and blood splatters as they fall dead until the helicopter becomes caught in cables attached to the roof and spins out of control before crashing into the roof and exploding. Several armed men burst through a roof access door and shoot people hiding there (we see blood splatter as they fall dead).
 Four people are shown bound and on their knees in the street as a vehicle speeds toward them and crashes into them. A man tackles another man, holds his hand over the man's mouth and tells him not to yell; when the man lets go, the other man yells and the first man beats him over the head with a heavy implement until blood splatters on his face and clothing and we see the other man dead in a pool of blood. A man runs and tries to jump off a roof but is shot in the back (blood splatters as he falls over the edge). Two men shoot several other armed men and one man gets away; the two men argue and the last of the original men is shot as her runs back through the area. Several gunmen shoot at people on a rooftop who run and two of them are shot (one falls dead and we see him in a pool of blood, the other has a bloody abdominal wound); the wounded man falls to his knees on the street as the others continue and he shoots the driver of an oncoming truck killing him (blood splatters) and the truck mows the man down (we do not see the body after).
 A man fights with several men and one holds a gun to his head; the man's young daughter runs out to protest and she is held by the man with the gun who places one gun in the girl's hand to make her shoot her father while holding another gun to the girl's head; a woman beats the man over the head repeatedly until he is dead.
 A tank shoots into a building and many people are thrown and inured or killed (we see bloody bodies after the dust settles). An embassy building explodes as several people come out the front; a man runs away and climbs a barricade to get away from the bombers.
 Many armed men search for a family of 4 and capture the husband and his wife after punching her hard in the face; the man tries to fire a gun but it jams and other men grab him and place him on a stone platform (presumably preparing to behead him) and the woman on another platform where they tear her clothing, one man punches her hard in the stomach and prepares to rape her (please see the Sex/Nudity category for more details); they are distracted by two other men who come in yelling.
 A man climbs a ladder on the side of a building and other men with weapons try to chase him; the man loosens the ladder and it falls away from the building as the men on the ground throw rocks and sticks at him. A large number of men with weapons crash into a hotel lobby and we hear gunfire, screaming and glass shattering. A woman braces a door to her hotel room as men on the other side try to force it open. A family of four ride on a small motorbike through a crowd of armed people (they get trough unharmed). A family of four on a motorbike ride through rubble strewn streets with buildings in flames, statues toppled and bodies all around. Several armed men looking for a family of 4 call out and one says," I find you, I kill you."
 A woman runs and jumps off a roof landing on another roof across an alley (we see her bloody knees); her husband throws one of their young children across to the woman who catches her and falls back with a thud (we see the woman's bloody elbows and arms), the husband then throws their other child who holds on to him and she falls over the edge but the man pulls her back up, wraps his belt around her arms and throws her (she is fine), and then he jumps across and they are shot at by the people on the previous roof. A family of four row a boat toward the border of Vietnam and they are warned and held at gunpoint as they approach; other armed men on shore also threaten them.
 A man runs through streets and sees many dead bodies with bloody wounds and blood pooled around their bodies. A man runs through a hotel and finds many dead bodies with bloody wounds and blood on the floors around them. Several people are seen with bloody wounds as they hide on a rooftop waiting for rescue. A man sees a dead soldier with a bloody bullet hole in his head inside the US Embassy.
 A man wakes up in a hotel room after hearing what sound like explosions in the distance. We see the interior of a hotel where armed guards stand in hallways. Several people play music on a street and a sign near them reads, "Victims of landmines" (we see prosthetic limbs in a pile next to them). A man is shown to have a healing scar on his head and his hand and he tells a little girl that he was in a fight with a tiger, and then shows her a large tooth on a chain around his neck.
 We see a skinned dog on a fire with part of it missing (we understand that people had been eating it). A man runs into a person carrying a bucket filled with eels and they spill on the ground (we see them slithering). A woman is shown crying in a hotel bathroom and she and her husband talk about relocating their family.
 A father tells his daughter about the day that she was born and that she was not breathing when she was born. While hiding from killers a young girl says that she has to go to the potty and her mother tells her to go in her pants; she protests, but we assume that she does (we do not see anything).

LANGUAGE 6 - About 11 F-words and its derivatives, 12 scatological terms (one spelled out by a young girl), anatomical terms, 2 mild obscenities, name-calling (scam artists, difficult, crazy), 1 religious profanity (GD), 2 religious exclamations (Oh My God).

SUBSTANCE USE - People are seen smoking pipes as they lie on rugs on the floor (presumably some kind of drug). Two men drink beers in a bar and one man appears to be inebriated as he orders a shot of liquor. A man smokes in a few scenes and we se him rolling his own cigarette in one scene.

DISCUSSION TOPICS - Relocating to foreign countries, Asian countries, success, doing good, asylum, slavery, political interests, attempted rape, coup d'etat.

MESSAGE - Know what you are getting into before traveling to a foreign country.
