A man and woman lie down in the brush in the distance and it is implied that they are having sex.
A man and a woman kiss passionately, laugh, and fall back onto a bed before the woman interrupts to go to the bathroom. A woman stumbles and falls backward and a man catches her; they linger in the embrace until the man tells her she can stand up and she seems flustered. A man kisses a woman on the cheek. A woman smacks a man and a woman on the clothed buttocks trying to get them to start moving.
A man puts a woman’s finger in his mouth to lubricate it in order to put on a ring. A woman lies next to another woman on a daybed and puts her leg across her hip before straddling her (we see the woman’s bare legs to the hips and part of her underwear) while they talk (it’s not clear if this is sexual).
A woman tells another woman, “Once you had sex I thought you’d calm down.” A man and woman sit close to each other and a woman from another room says, “Kiss her already,” (they do not kiss). A man says, “They left the bullet in my spleen. Do you want to feel it?” and a woman replies that she does. After being caught by his wife when he was having sex with another woman, a man says that he has an illness and that he wants to have sex all the time with different people. A woman complains that she and her husband have not had sex in 3 years. Several women in a self-defense class chant “Eat, Pray, [F-word deleted]” several times.

People walking through narrow streets in a small village are shot at by people with guns hiding in a bell tower and riding on a motorcycle; a few people are struck and others return fire and run away as a gas tank explodes. A man and two women shoot at each other, one woman and the man argue on a platform, the woman opens a steam valve that sprays steam on the man, he falls through a railing, dangles over a grape crushing machine, and the woman holds him; he then falls, and yells as we hear crunching and the machine whirring in a labored fashion (we see a bloody and severed arm and intestines among grapes in the machine). We hear gunfire in a hallway and later see two dead men with bloody wounds in a bathroom while three other men are cutting their bodies into pieces; we later see a man’s hand being cut off (we see the blade cut through the wrist), placed on a serving tray and three men spit on it before sending it to another man as a message.

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
