"One of the 50 Coolest Websites...they simply tell it like it is" - TIME
The Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy | 1996 | R | - 5.0.7
The wacky comedy troupe have their first feature film.
SEX/NUDITY 5 - Lots of sexual innuendo (many homosexual and masturbation references). A man watches some gay porn and we see flashes of bare buttocks in the film; that same man flashes his own bare buttocks a few times, and we see him masturbating (moaning and hand motions). Two men kiss (although one is dressed as a woman and is supposed to be one), three people (two women and a man) are in bed supposedly after sex (no nudity).
VIOLENCE/GORE 0 - None.
LANGUAGE 7 - About 18 F-words, some scatological and anatomical references and mild obscenities.
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Homosexuality, masturbation, depression and anti-depressants, the prescription drug industry.
MESSAGE - The side effects of pharmaceuticals might not be worth the cure.
CAVEATS
Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.
We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.
Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
