Based on William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet,” the story of the young lovers (Clara Rugaard and Jamie Ward) from rival families is set in 1301, at a time when their town of Verona is about to be overtaken by Rome. – A young woman pushes a young man back on a bed and sex is implied — we see them later as the young woman leaves the bed and the young man is shirtless (we see his bare chest and abdomen) and they kiss. A young man and a young woman sit in a private area, caress and kiss each other and lie back as he removes his outer shirt (sex is implied).
► A young man leans toward a young woman to kiss her and she pulls away, she then kisses him and they lie back on a church pew until they are interrupted by a friar. A young man and a young woman kiss passionately. A young woman invites a young man to “unravel” her and they dance with other couples at a gathering while singing lyrics that include “doing things” and “your touch,” and some people are shown embracing, caressing their faces and two people appear close to kissing. A young man and a young woman gasp and kiss passionately. A young woman kisses a young man to hide him in a passage when guards search for him. A husband kisses his wife. A young man and a young woman dance together and the scene ends with the young man lying down and holding the young woman over him, and then lowering her on top of him to embrace. Several young women sit around a young man and caress him; he gets up and leaves. A man tries to kiss a young woman’s hand and she pulls away.
► A young man and a young woman exchange marriage vows. A young man and a young woman each sing about being in love in a few scenes. A young woman discovers that she has been promised to a man that she does not know or love and she becomes upset. A young man says that another young man is in love.
► A young man and a young woman lie dead in a coffin embracing while family members mourn. A young man sees a young woman across a market and approaches her mesmerized.
► Women wear low-cut dresses that reveal cleavage in most scenes.

– A young man pulls another young man off a horse and they fight with punches and pushing (we see their bloody faces), others join the fight and we see a person biting another person on the arm; two young men draw swords and slash each other, one young man is stabbed through the back (blood gurgles in his mouth and he dies), and the other is stabbed in the abdomen (we hear a crunch and he falls dead). Two young men with swords prepare to fight each other, they lunge toward each other and other people surround them cheering; the fight shifts to several young men fighting with punches, head-butting and pushing and we see some bloody faces.
► A man hits a young man in the face (we see his bloody lip) and accuses him of shaming him for not fighting and standing with his family. A young man grabs another young man from the shoulder and the second young man raises his fist to him when he is startled. People are chased by guards and a young woman hides a young man in a passage (please see the Sex/Nudity category for more details). A man is tripped and falls to the ground (we see blood on his face). A young woman pushes a young man against a wall and yells, “What did you do?”
► A young woman takes target practice with a dagger and throws it into a board. A young man is chased into a tower by a man and the young man jumps into water below giving the impression that he has drowned. A young woman drinks a potion that makes her appear dead (we see her lying motionless) and a young woman screams when she discovers her and others grieve; the young woman’s mother pounds on her husband’s chest while sobbing. A young man drinks a potion that makes him seem dead and climbs into a coffin with a young woman.
► A young man and a young woman jump from a bridge into a passing hay cart. A young man climbs up a sash to a balcony where a young woman stands and they flirt and rush through the building evading others inside. Three young men run through a market and climb into a container that is lifted to a roof where people are gathered. A man collapses asleep on the floor after drinking a potion.
► A man orders people to be killed and washed away in the tide. We hear about a tyrannical Pope fighting with royals for power. We hear that a man is sheltering people and helping them escape for being persecuted for being Jewish. A man accuses another man of practicing dark arts and the man explains that it is science; he demonstrates a potion that causes rats to appear dead and when they are given an antidote, they re-animate. A young man talks about his father being “consumed by drink.”
