Why is “The Hustle” rated PG-13? The MPAA rating has been assigned for “for crude sexual content and language.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes a couple of implied sex scenes, conversations about sex, many scenes of women wearing cleavage revealing outfits; several scenes of pratfalls and slapstick violence, several swindles of a lot of money from people; 2 F-words when a woman tries to pronounce the island of Phuket and a few more not fully enunciated or mouthed F-words.

Two con-artists (Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson) face off against each other — until the moment they decide to work together. However, trouble starts when one of them falls for their mark. The Hustle SEX/NUDITY 5

 – The occupied sign on an airplane bathroom door changes rhythmically as it is implied that a man and a woman have sex inside the bathroom. A man moves toward a woman in a hotel room and turns off the lights as the scene ends (sex is implied, but we find out later that nothing happened). A man kisses a woman on the cheek.
► A woman wearing a low-cut nightgown goes to a man’s hotel room and tries to seduce him; she tries to have him eat oysters, and she stands on the railing of a balcony and pretends to step off whereupon he grabs her and holds her in a dip position. Men and women dance in a club and one woman gyrates her hips and buttocks against the man’s crotch repeatedly (slightly below the frame). A woman lifts her skirt to reveal a large metal chastity belt with a rusted lock as she thrusts her hips toward a man at a dining table and she asks him for help to get out of it; another man enters the room carrying a blow torch and she says, “Not the flame.” A woman tries to flirt with another woman to let her out of a jail cell, and she lifts herself up onto the bars, thrusts her hips and licks the bars, without any effect.
► A man speaks to another man at a bar who thinks that he is inviting him to have sex with him; a woman intervenes and tells the second man (both speaking in Danish) that she is going to have sex with the first man (no one has sex). A woman tells a man that she will withhold sex if he crosses her. A woman tells a man that they should have sex as a “cover” and he laughs and says that he has standards and also that he has many STDs. A woman tells another woman to show her “sugar baby ways.” A woman says that women are good at the con because, “We are used to faking it.” A woman says that she has paid for things in other ways (meaning sex). A woman tells a man that she has just become engaged and that she and her sister have a pact that the one who is not marrying will have the choice to either “bed the groom or fight him in a duel.” A man tries to sell a bracelet to a woman he does not know and tells her that she can pay off the balance “in another way,” causing her to become uncomfortable (the situation is interrupted). A man’s personalized license plate reads, “Baller.” A man tells a woman that he loves another woman (whom he has not met) and that he will, “Let her keep my children.” A woman tells another woman that a village is a “lesbian community” while trying to dissuade her from going there and the second woman says, “I could work a woman [con].” While describing that her sister was kidnapped by a prostitution ring, a woman refers to wanting to save her before she is “defiled.” A woman refers to a fossil as a “dinosaur clitoris.”
► A man’s shirt is partially unbuttoned to reveal his bare chest. A photo shows a man with his pants down and wearing briefs (we see his lower abdomen and upper thighs). Several women in a casino wear low-cut dresses that reveal bare backs to the waist, cleavage and shoulders. Several men wearing swim trunks are shown with bare chests, abdomens, backs and legs. A woman wears a low-cut tank top that reveals cleavage in a few scenes. A woman wears a low-cut, tight-fitting gown that reveals cleavage and bare back. A woman wears low-cut dresses that reveal cleavage in several scenes. A woman wears a gown with a slit that reveals her bare leg to the upper thigh. The Hustle VIOLENCE/GORE 4

 - A woman punches a man in the throat when he startles her and he falls back, gasps and cannot speak for a few minutes. A woman kicks another woman who has collapsed on the floor in a lobby and other people gather around them. A woman swings a cane toward another woman's face (she is pretending to be blind) and she does not flinch. A woman blows air into another woman's face causing her eyes to water.
► A woman slams into a door when another woman closes it in front of her (she falls unconscious). Police chase a woman through a bar, she dumps over kegs and hides among garbage in an alley. A man steals a tip left on a bar top and uses it to pay the bar person for his own order. A man trips while chasing a woman out of a casino to return her cane to her. Three women approach a woman threateningly as the scene ends and we see her later with her hand Super-Glued to a wall. Three women approach another woman in a bathroom and threaten her as the scene ends. A woman slips and falls hard on a floor, and slides into a pedestal holding a round sculpture that falls on her abdomen (she seems unharmed).
► A woman stumbles into a lobby as if she is ill. A woman calls for help thinking that she is having a stroke and she collapses to the floor; people rush to her side to see if she is OK. A woman loses money at a roulette table and becomes despondent saying, "That was my last chance."
► A woman tells another woman that she will kill another woman by throwing her in a quarry. A woman is told that the man she tried to con is a member of the Russian mafia and that her life is in danger. A woman tells a man that her sister has been kidnapped by a prostitution ring. A man asks a woman if another woman has a birth defect. A man tells a woman to leave a roulette table because, "You French people are bad luck," and tells her to "Shave her armpits." A woman says a village is a "lesbian community." A woman tells a man that she has just become engaged to that she and her sister have a pact that the one who is not marrying will have the choice to either "bed the groom or fight him in a duel." A woman says, "I will hit her hard in the [anatomical term deleted]."
► A woman with brown teeth and pale skin is shown locked behind a gate and in a glass enclosure where she imagines that she is a member of a royal house; a man is alarmed when he is taken to meet her and she becomes angry yelling and throwing things around the room.
► Two women practice dancing and throwing knives and one woman falls, tumbles over a Swedish box and catches a knife by the blade (we do not see blood). A woman is struck in the face by a champagne cork that pops when she pounds the bottle on a table after trying to open it (no injury shown). A woman spills red wine on a woman's white dress (we see stains). An oyster falls down a woman's nightgown and we hear it splat on the floor.
► A woman wipes a French fry around inside a toilet and the rim and feeds it to another woman (she swallows it while making a face). A woman asks another woman if she is constipated while trying to cry.
