In this scary ghost tale, Kevin Bacon plays a man who gets visited by a ghost. Also he's both a loving father to a young boy who talks with dead people and a strange husband to a wife who thinks he's gone crazy after he's been hypnotized . SEX/NUDITY 5 - Many instances of sexual innuendo and some kissing. In an extended scene, a woman wearing a robe moves rhythmically on top of a shirtless man and moans a lot; his bare chest and part of her breast is visible. A teenage boy kisses a girl, fondles her clothed breast and starts raping her (see Violence/Gore below). We see a woman's bare backside as she's ready to bathe, a woman wearing a towel and a few shots of cleavage.

VIOLENCE/GORE 7 - A drunken teenage boy slams a girl to the floor (her tooth pops out and her fingernail breaks off backwards and its bloody), pins her down and starts raping her; she is then suffocated when another boy covers her face with plastic. A teenage boy and his father are shot to death; also, a teenager intentionally shoots himself with a gun (it's implied that he lives). A man pulls out his own tooth; his mouth is bloody and it's painful to watch. We see a boy's face covered with blood after he allegedly shoots himself in the head. We see blood splatter on the floor, and a man sees blood in his cup of water. A woman stabs a man in the foot with a knife. A man discovers and then touches a rotting corpse (we see another person's hair between the corpse's fingers) and an ashen-looking ghost appears several times throughout the film (it's more frightening than gory). A man's skin is pierced with a baby pin. Kicking, punching and fighting; a couple of instances of threatening with guns. A young boy watches a scary black and white movie on television (the brief clips seem to show alien/zombie-type creatures eating human flesh; the noises are gross).

LANGUAGE 7 - About 20 F-words, several anatomical references, many scatological references, many mild obscenities and a few insults.

(Note: There were many scenes in this film that are neither violent nor gory, but they are very scary. They include scenes where a ghost appears out of nowhere and frightens another character, and scenes where the ghost frightens the viewer because the viewer can see the ghost but the character in the movie can't. Also, a boy regularly talks to a ghost, and the ghost appears many times throughout the movie and she's a rather frightening sight.)
