Tim Allen stars as a workaholic deputy DA who has little time for his family. When his animal rights activist teenage daughter brings home a dog from a lab that is testing new chemicals on animals, and which is the same lab that her father is representing in court, their relationship becomes even more strained. That's also when dad begins to feel a bit doggish and starts chasing cats through the neighborhood on all fours. SEX/NUDITY 3 - A man wakes up nude in a garage a few times (we see his bare back, shoulders, chest and legs) but covered with a blanket (he looks under the blanket toward his crotch and seems relieved). A man steps out of a shower (we see his bare shoulders and chest). Several women are shown in low-cut dresses that reveal cleavage, bare shoulders and backs. A man stands nude on the courthouse steps (we see his bare shoulders and chest). A man's pants tear and we see his boxer shorts through the hole. Many people are shown in swimwear revealing cleavage, bare abdomens, bare backs, etc.
 A husband licks his wife's cheek, a husband and wife kiss a few times, and a teenage boy and teenage girl nearly kiss.
 A man (as a dog) asks his wife (she cannot understand him) if she is in heat. A husband touches his wife's clothed buttock for a while.

VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - A man drags a dog by the collar, the dog struggles to get away, and it bites the man's hand (we see bloody holes in the man's hand). A dog bites a man's hand and we see a drop of blood on his finger.
 A dog is zapped by a cattle prod and falls immobile to the ground. A man is zapped by a cattle prod (his hair stands up), and a dog was zapped by a cattle prod (we see its hair stand on end). A man and a woman are zapped by a cattle prod (their hair stands on end) and they fall over onto the floor.
 A man chases a cat through yards and busy streets, while running on all fours; he runs into an elderly woman who is tossed into a tree (we see her dangling from a branch), the cat is nearly hit by a car, and the man jumps over the hood of a car.
 A car is struck in the back by a large truck, and a dog that's in the car is thrown into the windshield; we see the dog and a man, who was also in the car, with bandages and in neck braces later.
 A woman extracts a vial of blood from a dog, the dog gets the vial away from her and runs, and a man with a cattle prod chases the dog through the building (the dog gets away). We see a dog attached to monitors and IVs in a few scenes (it is being evaluated and tested). A man gives another man an injection that will cause him to act like he suffers from dementia.
 We see several genetically altered animals: a snake/dog with a furry tail, a dog/frog with a dog's head and paws and a frog's body, chimpanzees that bark like dogs, etc.
 Many teenage boys hit each other hard on the football field and we see one being piled on by many others. Two men snarl and growl at each other, and a man snarls and growls at people in several scenes. A man in a cage falls off the end of a table and lands hard on the floor.
 There are a couple of scenes that show green, furry looking fragments moving though a man's blood stream and attacking his cells. A snake's cage falls onto a floor, and the snake escapes.
 A dog runs into a store window and falls on the sidewalk. A dog runs up to a car, and slams against the window causing the driver to scream and speed away. A dog jumps from an overpass onto a moving bus and rides along on the roof. A dog and a cat are taken away by animal control officers, with nets and a neck ring.
 A dog urinates on flowers in a man's yard (we hear a trickle). A dog talks about other dogs sniffing each other's backsides and we see several doing so. A man's tongue becomes very long and hangs out of his mouth.
 A man threatens to kill a dog by "cutting you up like a birthday cake." A man threatens to kill a man. We see a dog in a cage with a metal muzzle on its snout and a woman tells a man to "get the cattle prod and I'll get the needle."
 A man has grown a tail and he chases it. A man laps up his coffee and puts his face in his cereal bowl to eat, holds papers in his mouth and plays with them like a dog, scratches himself like a dog in a couple of scenes, shakes to dry off like a dog after a shower, licks a wound on his hand, and lifts his leg to urinate in a urinal (another man standing nearby is using a urinal in the traditional way). A dog presses its snout into a man's crotch a few times.
 People protest outside a company and lie down on the ground; police are present but there is no violence. We see a military group moving into a village in Tibet to capture a dog and watch as one of them shoots a net over the dog.
 A father and daughter argue in a few scenes. Two teenage children become angry and frightened when they realize that their parents may be divorcing. A man yells at a dog for using his lawn as a bathroom in a few scenes. A woman makes a comment about converting to cannibalism while trying to get her husband's attention.

LANGUAGE 2 - 1 sexual reference, 3 scatological terms, 3 anatomical terms (2 mild), 2 mild obscenities, name-calling (stupid, moron, pig, mutt), 4 religious exclamations.

SUBSTANCE USE - A woman drinks champagne in a restaurant and other people drink wine and alcohol.

DISCUSSION TOPICS - Fountain of youth, Tibetan monks, animal rights, kidnapping, family, losing touch with one's family, letting family down, fatherhood, separation, divorce, instinct, arson, greed, genetic mutation, DNA, animal control, effects of testing with unproven chemicals.

MESSAGE - We all must support our family members in whatever they choose to do.
