The MPAA rating has been assigned for “action, some violence, rude humor, and mild language.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes a few kissing scenes, many scenes of action with potential for harm, several scenes of weapons being discharged (tasers and alien weapons) without visible injuries, threats of violence, discussions of death and dying, craving ultimate power, and some strong language. Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) returns for a new adventure that makes him realize he needs to grow up a little to match wits with Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) again, since he needs help from others to defeat him. Also with the voices of Idris Elba, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, and also with James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Shemar Moore and Lee Majdoub. Directed by Jeff Fowler. [Running Time: 2:02]

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 SEX/NUDITY 1

 – A man and a woman kiss and hug in a few scenes. A man and a woman kiss tenderly.
 A man and woman hug after she asks him, “Can we bury the hatchet?” A man seems to be enamored with another man and he draws likenesses of his face in coffee foam in a coffee shop.
 A man takes off his shirt to dance in a dance-off and we see his bare chest, abdomen and back. Several men are seen shirtless and wearing swim trunks in a couple of beach scenes (we see their bare chests, abdomens, backs and legs to the knees). People wearing swimsuits are seen around a swimming pool (cleavage, bare abdomens, backs, chests and legs are shown). A woman wears an off the shoulder dress that reveals her bare shoulder. A woman wears a low-cut top that reveals cleavage.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 VIOLENCE/GORE 3

 – A man uses powers to throw a tank into the air, he pulls apart many other vehicles, a train is pulled off the tracks, and the metal swirls around in a funnel cloud until we see a giant robot that was created from the vehicles; the man operates the robot and it stomps through a town destroying things and nearly crushes a fur-covered creature and a fox-like creature. Men in an armored truck speed through streets chased by police, and a fur-covered creature speeds alongside the action and into the truck where it drives recklessly on the road narrowly missing pedestrians; the creature finds a bag of explosives that ignite and he throws them into a garbage truck as they pass, a couple of police cars spin out and crash, the truck loses its brakes and the creature unfastens the rivets in the vehicle causing it to fall apart just as it threatens to crash into a café filled with people; police arrive and arrest the would-be thieves as an explosion blows water up through manholes nearby.
 A man punches another man in the face after they argue during a wedding. Several armed men surround a woman and she throws a device that strikes each of them and knocks them to the floor. A woman throws a device toward a man and it makes him shoot high into the sky; he later falls to the ground and slams onto a table. A woman shoots a very small gun and it blows up a multi-layered cake. A man shoots another man with a taser and he is struck in the chest; he falls to the ground thrashing but is OK later. A man and a fur-covered creature run through a cave that is filled with booby traps that shoot spears, swing blades, blow flames at them and a giant spiked boulder rolls toward them just as they get through a slamming door. Armed people with helmets and masks that look like birds find an unconscious man on the ground and one pokes him with a blade on the end of a staff and the man awakens; the person with the staff is snatched and thrown far in the distance, another is struck with a swinging log and thrown offs-screen, and a third is struck by a large stone and knocked down. A man holds a gun on another man tied into a chair. A fur-covered creature is trapped under rubble underwater and falls unconscious until another fur-covered creature tries to free him; they push the rubble together and he is freed and swims to the surface, but the other creature cannot swim and falls unconscious (he is pulled out and is OK). A man and woman in a car speed under the giant foot of a robot, swerve to pick up a fur-covered creature as the foot comes down and the vehicle flips (no one is harmed); the three huddle together as the foot comes down on them and we see it being pushed back up and no one is harmed.
 A fur-covered creature speeds around a giant robot’s head and cuts the top open (it slips off and lands on the ground below); the creature taps the robot and it falls backward with a man inside. Two fur-covered creatures and a fox-like creature fly in a plane around a robot, the robot fires rockets at them and the pilot dodges them, the robot swats the plane and it crashes (no one is harmed). A robot shoots flames from its nostril (referred to as a “snot rocket”) and blasts a bridge destroying it and a fur-covered creature falls to the ground as he runs across the bridge. Two fur-covered creatures fight midair punching and throwing each other, they are each surrounded by glowing strands of energy, one throws the other back hard, the other slams the other into stone stairs breaking a hole in them and strikes him several more times until they are distracted by a man. A fur-covered creature slams a man hard in the chest causing him to drop something and a robot he was controlling collapses to the ground motionless. A fur-covered creature and a fox-like creature are shot at and trapped in a cave. A fur-covered creature speeds through snow on a powered snowboard and he is shot at by flying vessels; a laser grid is created in the air and the creature dodges the lasers, he is struck by another fur-covered creature and they both tumble down the mountain; one dangles over a cliff and drops several rings. A fur-covered creature punches another fur-covered creature and he is thrown through a wall a couple of times (we see rubble); the attacker glows red and the other glows blue and spins in a glowing ball, the other creature slams him into a tree and holds him off the ground, the aggressor is struck by a car and thrown into a shed (the shed is shown crumpled and the creature is unharmed). A fox-like creature speeds in a car with a fur-covered creature inside and a man jumps onto the hood where he licks the windshield until he is thrown off (we do not see injuries), the driver speeds away and another fur-covered creature chases them, they speed on busy streets and nearly crash into a truck, and the chasing creature slams into the truck and breaks a hole through it (the creature is unharmed).
 A fur-covered creature jumps onto the roof of a speeding car and pulls the flashing lights off the roof, the driver speeds up and swerves off the road and over a cliff where the driver flies to safety holding a fur-covered creature that was inside the car; the other fur-covered creature is shown trying to scale a sheer cliff wall (he does get back to the top unharmed). We hear loud thumping footsteps outside a house after the power has gone out, bright sparks shoot through the front door handle and the door opens to reveal a man with a glowing finger; the man threatens to harm a fur-covered creature, a sheriff and his wife and a dog. A fur-covered creature and a fox-like creature trudge through heavy snow to a building where they see a man slamming a knife into a table, and another man cutting the heads off fish (one severed head falls on the floor and it speaks and says, “Run”). A man shoots a rocket and a fox-like creature falls, an avalanche is started by the explosions and snow rumbles down a mountain; a portal is opened and the snow pours through and onto people gathered for a wedding on a tropical island knocking people down and covering them with snow (no one is harmed). A beam of light shoots out of the structure in the ocean and high in the sky as the ocean bubbles and waves crash around it. A fur-covered creature speeds across water and through waves until he is overcome and he regains consciousness on a ledge near a structure in the ocean.
 Many angry people surround a fur-covered creature and a fox-like creature and one man accepts a challenge (it ends up a dance-off). A fur-covered creature shakes hands with others in a few scenes and we hear bones cracking; one man complains of broken fingers and yells. A man plays volleyball with several other men and he is struck by the ball and knocked to the ground several times (he doesn’t appear hurt). A minister sheepishly opens his Bible and reveals that he has a taser gun planted inside it. A woman imagines hunting down and harming her fiancé. A woman speeds in a golf cart calling out for a man and she guzzles from a bottle of champagne. An angry woman draws her thumb across her throat threateningly.
 A fur-covered creature falls off a rowboat and into water where he panics saying that he can’t swim and a man lifts him back into the boat. A man prepares a signal that is sent out from a planet where he waits for others to come hoping that they will help him get back to Earth; when he initiates the signal he is thrown back from the blast and lies on the ground unconscious. A man is shown isolated on a planet surrounded by mushrooms of various sizes. A fur-covered creature jumps on furniture, pours food and candy all around a house, builds skateboard ramps over and around a house and skates, rides a lawnmower through the living room, fills a kiddie pool with bubbles as he enjoys being alone unsupervised while the adults are away. A fox-like creature with two tails spins the tails and flies like a helicopter in several scenes. A fur-covered creature makes a scary voice while holding a flashlight under his chin after the power goes out and a dog whimpers and runs away. A skull and crossbones are shown in a knitted bit of cloth a couple of times. A fur-covered creature and a fox-like creature are locked in cages and a man is bound and led away by agents with taser guns. A space vessel launches from space and lands on the ground with rocket blasters shooting flames; a man enters the vessel and we see many small flying objects moving around him, trimming his mustache and dressing him.
 Creatures talk about attacking a robot and that the groin is the weak spot. A man yells for a fur-covered creature to help him destroy another fur-covered creature. A plan is made to use a “pancake maneuver” to overcome a giant robot. A man approaches another man and accuses him of totaling his fiancée’s car and leaving her tied to a chair; he threatens the man and says, “I should rip you limb from limb” (he laughs and tells him he was kidding). A woman tells a man, “If you ruin my wedding, I will end you.” A fur-covered creature walks through a glowing portal and a man tells him that he will help him find another creature if he takes him along. A fur-covered creature talks about saying goodbye to his father when he was young and that he never saw him again. A man’s phone rings twice during a wedding and a woman (the bride) yells, “So help me.” A man jokes about a fur-covered creature having “Lost the quill to live.” A fur-covered creature taunts a giant robot trying to distract it as it marches into a town. A fur-covered creature says that he is made of 1 million % muscle. A woman talks about discovering a “black site.”
 Mushrooms sprout and initiate a series of events that lead to rocks increasing in size rolling down a path that ends with a large rock smashing bowl filled with small mushroom caps into a liquid that a man drinks and spits out several times. A dog licks a fur-covered creature and he complains of the animal’s “morning breath.” A fur-covered creature falls asleep while fishing on a boat and we see a string of drool on his mouth. We hear recordings of a creature making flatulent sounds and complaining of having eaten “too many chili dogs.” A man talks about someone being able to fit his whole fist in his mouth. A man says, “I think I just threw up in my mouth”; we do not see any evidence of him having done so. A fur-covered creature makes chilidogs fall from the sky and two land on another fur-covered creature’s face with the two dogs poking out of his eyes.
