Why is “MaXXXine” rated R? The MPAA rating has been assigned for “strong violence, gore, sexual content, graphic nudity, language and drug use.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes a sex scene being filmed for a pornographic movie with partial nudity, a video of a sex scene with partial nudity, a few scenes of partial non-sexual nudity, several people being killed by gunshot, we see a man’s mutilated genitals, a man being killed by stabbing, a person with a sharp object in the eye and another with a knife up the nose, a person being crushed in a vehicle crusher, several bodies being discovered with one in pieces inside a suitcase, news reportage about serial killings, and about 14 F-words and other strong language. MaXXXine SEX/NUDITY 7

 – While filming a pornographic movie a woman is shown lying on her back while a man thrusts and we hear slapping flesh; we see the woman’s bare breasts and abdomen and the man’s bare buttocks with a jock strap wrapped around his legs. A woman watches a video of herself thrusting and moaning (we see her bare breasts; we do not see the other person).
► A porn theater is seen to have several doors with painted images of women’s legs spread wide apart on either side of them; a man enters one of the doors and watches behind glass as a woman on the other side dances seductively (we see her bare abdomen, bare legs to the hips and partial buttocks) and the man seems to become agitated or aroused and pulls a banister off the wall. Women dance on a stage in an exotic dance club and someone in the audience whistles; we see the women dancing around a pole and wearing thong underwear and bra tops that reveal cleavage, bare abdomens, bare backs and buttocks. Men and women are shown on streets and sidewalks and it is implied that some are soliciting (one woman leans into an open car window). A woman throws kisses to fans lined up along a walkway to a theater. A note is left on a woman’s car windshield and it reads, “For a good time, call …”
► A woman in a dressing room stands up and removes her robe to reveal her bare buttocks and back and we see her bare breasts. The bodies of two women are shown with their flesh blue-tinged and their bare backs and buttocks are visible. A man is told to take off his clothes at gunpoint (please see the Violence/Gore category for more details) and we see his bare chest, abdomen, back and buttocks, and we later see his mutilated genitals. Women wear bra tops and thongs in an exotic dance club and we see cleavage, bare abdomen, legs and bare buttocks while they dance. A woman wears a low-cut dress that reveals cleavage, partial bare breasts and her bare back. A woman wears a low-cut halter top (we see cleavage, bare shoulders and back) and when asked to show her breasts during an audition, she unzips the front and shows the people in the room (we see her from the back and do not see her breasts). A woman is seen wrapped with a towel that reveals cleavage and her bare shoulders. A woman wears short shorts and a tank top that reveal her bare legs to the hips, cleavage and the outline of her nipples. A woman wears a low-cut dress that reveals cleavage, the partial side of her breast and back.

MaXXXine VIOLENCE/GORE 7

 – A man with a bloody face and shirt is handcuffed into a car and questioned as a crusher plate lowers toward the vehicle; the man pleads to be let out of the car and he prays as the crusher plate presses down on the roof of the car and flattens it (we see blood gush from under the door and onto the ground); two large dogs bark and rush toward the blood and matter on the ground and lap it up. A man with a bloody bullet wound lies on the ground and is shot at close range in the head by a shotgun (we see his head completely obliterated and a pile of matter and blood remains). A woman walks alone at night through a dark alley, a man follows her and draws a switchblade threatening her, she turns around pointing a gun at him and he drops the knife, she tells him to take off his clothes and get on his knees, which he does, and she puts the gun barrel in his mouth and tells him to “suck,” which he does (he gags and coughs), she tells him to lie on the ground where she steps on his genitals with her pointed heel (we see bloody and identifiable mutilated male genitals) as he screams. A man in a video store tells a customer, “I ain’t in that business no more,” and closes the shop for the night; another man holding a large knife moves toward the proprietor and slashes him on the back of the neck (we see the flesh open and bleed), the injured man turns around and is slashed down the face and across the eye, he is stabbed in the chest and falls to the floor where he is stabbed in the back and the chest several times and an earring is pulled out of his ear (we see the body under a blood-soaked sheet the next day).
► A man declares that he is going to perform an exorcism on a woman that is tied to a pole and several other people around them are filming and recording the scene; the woman whimpers as the man holds a glowing hot branding iron close to her face, a man is shot in the chest and falls into a pool, the man holding the iron is engulfed in flames and runs away chased by others with guns and gunfire is exchanged (several people are struck and blood sprays); a man is shot in the chest and we see a lot of blood as he dies, the bound woman cuts herself free, she is pulled into a pool by a man and she stabs him in the nose (blood spreads in the water); a woman chases a man up a hill and we hear gunshots off-screen until the woman emerges with a cross stabbed into her eye (a lot of blood is shown on her face and eye) and she rolls down the hill and off-screen.
► A woman stumbles back and bumps into a suitcase that tumbles down a flight of stairs and when it opens, we see the severed body parts of a woman and her head falls out with blood at the neck and the mouth is open as if screaming. The dead bodies of two women are shown lying on their stomachs in a cemetery (we see their flesh is blue-tinged) and we see that their faces have been branded with satanic symbols.
► A man in a car behind a woman in a car films her and she becomes upset, gets out of her car and punches the man in the face repeatedly while holding her keys between her fingers (we see his face and neck very bloody and later in bandages). A man runs out of a dance club and onto an elevated loading dock where he is struck in the back of the head by a baseball bat, and falls off the ledge and onto the ground below (we see him with a bloody face and shirt later).
► A flashback shows a car speeding toward a woman lying on the ground and we hear screaming and assume that the woman was run over by the vehicle. A man stands in a street on a movie set and a woman runs away from him (we see that he has a gun), she runs into a structure, he tackles her, and she gets away and hides until the man is confronted by a security guard and ushered off the property. A woman holding a gun approaches the door of a large house and enters looking for someone; she follows noises up a flight of stairs and we hear a recording of a child’s voice talking to a man, as a man approaches the woman and takes the gun from her. We hear crying behind a closet door while someone records what is happening and when the door is opened two women, bound, gagged and blindfolded are shown crying; one woman is taken out of the closet and walked toward a door where a man approaches her and touches her face with a gloved hand as the recording cuts out and she screams (we see the women dead later). A man wraps a plastic bag over a woman’s head and she struggles to breathe until she falls unconscious and we see her awaken bound, gagged, and tied to a pole.
► A movie scene shows a woman engulfed in flames and her skin becomes charred as she screams. A woman takes a handgun out of a shoebox in her closet and lays it on the clothes that she is going to be wearing later. A woman puts a handgun under her pillow. A woman drives her car fast through city streets and cuts off traffic when she does a U-turn in one scene. A horror movie on a TV screen shows people in the water screaming as a giant crocodile swims near them.
► A woman in a chair has a thick goop poured over her head to create a cast of her head; she becomes increasingly uncomfortable as we see a scene of someone attacking her, and she imagines someone’s hands touching her shoulders and chest as she falls back onto the floor gasping and spits out some goop. A woman mimes a scream with her mouth wide open.
► While filming a movie scene a woman bites into an apple and it bleeds (we see blood in her mouth and she spits the bite into a can after the filming stops); the film director smears a handful of blood on the woman’s mouth and chin for the next take. A man kicks stall doors in a restroom open and we see overfilled and badly soiled toilets with feces and blood in and on them.
► Many news reports are shown covering a serial murderer in Hollywood. Many references are made to Hollywood selling sin. A woman has a scar on her arm and says that she was shot. A newspaper headline reads, “Texas Porn Star Massacre.” Protestors carrying signs and chanting are shown in several scenes outside movie sets.
