Jean Claude Van Damme uncovers a connection between the FBI and the Russian Mafia.
SEX/NUDITY 5 - Sexual innuendo, kissing and fondling. A woman in a bra. A man nuzzles a woman's cleavage (she wears a low-cut dress). A shot of bare breasts (mainly from the side). Scantily clad women gyrating in a strip club (bikini tops and thong bottoms). A sex scene in a bathroom with people kissing, bare breasts and a bare chest, thrusting and moaning. Towel clad men in a steam room and a shot of a bare male tush.
VIOLENCE/GORE 9 - Lots of gunfire (with glass flying, people screaming and falling) with people dying at times. A man is shot in the head and his brain matter splatters. A couple of stabbings with lots of blood (one time the knife is jerked up in the man's abdomen a few times and a man is stabbed in the toes). A man is shot several times in the head and chest with lots of blood. A man is run over by a subway train (squishy sounds). Fires and explosions and a man is engulfed in flames. A man and a woman are strangled. A man falls through a car windshield and there's blood on his face (his bloody-faced corpse is shown also). Lots of martial arts fighting with lots of bone crunching and agonized screams. A meat plant has animal carcasses in it and one carcass is cut in half with a chainsaw.
LANGUAGE 5 - Two and a half F-words (a man starts to say it but doesn't finish), one scatological reference.
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Twins, family secrets, the Mafia, police and FBI corruption.
MESSAGE - Sometimes law enforcement is corrupt; appearances can be deceiving.
CAVEATS
Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.
We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.
Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
