Ip Man 4: The Finale | 2020 | TV-MA | – 5.5.4

content-ratingsWhy is “Ip Man 4: The Finale” rated TV-MA? The TV Parental Guidelines Monitoring Board rating indicates that “this program is specifically designed to be viewed by adults and therefore may be unsuitable for children under 17.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes a glimpse of a topless woman, many fight scenes with bloody wounds and broken bones shown in a few, and some strong language and name-calling. Read our parents’ guide below for details on sexual content, violence & strong language.

Donnie Yen reprises his role as Ip Man, Bruce Lee’s martial arts teacher: following the death of his wife and his own cancer diagnosis, he travels to San Francisco in the 1960s, encounters a lot of anti-Chinese bigotry and fights several American racists. Also with Scott Adkins, Danny Kwok-Kwan Chan, Vanness Wu, Jim Liu, Kent Cheng, Yue Wu and Vanda Margraf. Directed by Wilson Yip. Many lines of dialogue are spoken in Cantonese and Mandarin with English subtitles. [Running Time: 1:47]

CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
