Read our parents’ guide below for details on sexual content, violence & strong language.

 – A lighted button labeled “puberty” on a control panel flashes red as sirens blare.
A character turns away and crouches on the floor a couple of times and his sweatshirt pulls up to reveal a bit of his buttock cleavage.

Inside Out 2 VIOLENCE/GORE 2

 – A teen girl sneaks out of her room and into a coach’s office where she wants to read a report written about her performance during a hockey team tryout; a security guard walks through the hallway and jiggles the door handle as she hides behind the door.
A coach yells at three teens when they are disrupting her and assigns the team a drill as punishment when they laugh at her. A teen girl yells at her parents and is frustrated in several scenes. A teen makes a presentation in a classroom and knocks a display over spilling a jar of coins on the floor and other students in the classroom laugh at her until two other girls offer to help her. A teen girl imagines her parents being disappointed in her not making a team.
Teen girls play hockey in several scenes; one scene shows a teen being sent to the penalty box for tripping another player, and another scene shows her being sent to the penalty box for slamming into another player that falls to the ice (no injuries are seen). A teen girl hogs the puck during a hockey scrimmage and shoves other players out of the way several times.
A long tube shatters crashing down around several characters. Several characters are scooped up, placed in a jar with a lid on it, and locked inside a vault. Several security guards slip, fall, and bump into each other ending up locked inside a vault. Sirens blare and five characters run away from others chasing them. Several characters ignite a pile of TNT causing a large explosion. A character threatens to “punt” someone into the dumps (we see a reenactment of a character being kicked off a pedestal in the distance). Several characters float on a large piece of broccoli along a stream until a chasm opens up and they nearly wash over a waterfall into the chasm. Many small beings monitoring a teen girl’s emotions and inputting thoughts are encouraged to stop doing what they are doing and they stand up and protest by having a pillow fight. A character smacks another character in the head (no injuries are apparent).
A character says, “Please kill me.” A character says, “You feel less joy when you grow up.” Comments are made about fearing dying alone and having no friends. Two teens tell another teen that they will be in different schools next year and one teen becomes upset. A character says, “I think I’m going to be sick,” (they do not get sick).
Several characters dangle from guide ropes attached to a giant Supreme Court Justice balloon. A character panics when his phone is missing. Several characters fall through the air and one pulls a cord to open a parachute, helping them all to land safely. A character spins out of control, as a teen girl seems to be having an anxiety attack, sweating and hyperventilating. A teen girl is giddy when she meets another teen girl that is her idol and behaves awkwardly.
A character is squeezed through a long tube by many glowing balls and falls out onto the ground. A wrecking ball shatters a window in a control room and many characters enter with demolition tools, breaking up equipment. A video game character is very dramatic and carries a large sword; other characters discuss his signature attack move as not being impressive.
A character shakes hands with another character and remarks about his sweaty palms causing him to become embarrassed and turn away. A teen girl smells her armpit and is frustrated because she smells bad, saying that she is too gross to go anywhere.

CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
