A man's (Daniel Radcliffe) girlfriend (Juno Temple) is murdered on the night that he proposes to her and he is accused of the crime. While trying to track down the real killer he finds himself growing horns and he develops an unusual power over people. A preteen boy looks at a pornographic magazine and we see a few pages that include fully nude women on poses that reveal bare breasts, abdomens, buttocks and genitals. ► A man and a woman lie on a blanket (fully clothed) while kissing and talking and the woman asks if the man is in the mood for sex to which he replies that he is getting there and they continue to kiss (sex is implied); the woman's top is low-cut and reveals cleavage.

A man says to his preteen son, "She wants you to stop checking out her legs in church or she's gonna give you a black eye." VIOLENCE/GORE 7 - A man kisses a woman and she says no and pushes him away; the man continues to try to kiss the woman and shoves her as he confronts, and her then shoves her to the ground and rapes her as she screams and he hits her in the head with a rock (we see a large bloody hole in her head and watch her gasp and die).
► Two men fight and one of them picks up a gun and shoots another man in the leg (we hear a crunch and see blood spurt from the wound) before another man tries to get the gun from him and he shoots his head off (we see the top part of the man's head blown off with a lot of blood and matter).
► A man holds a rake to another man's throat as he says, "I should have let you drown," and they fight with punches and kicks until one man strikes the other man on the back and head repeatedly with a heavy chain (we see the man's bloody face) before dragging him to his car and spraying him with gasoline, and then lighting him on fire; we see the man in the car engulfed in flames and thrashing as he struggles to start the car and drives it off the end of a pier and into water; the man swims to the shore and gets out (we see his bloody and charred flesh).
► A man stabs another man in the abdomen with a horn, then picks him up and throws him into a tree where he stumbles and falls to his knees (we see blood pouring from the wound); many snakes slither toward the man and onto him as one of the snakes shoots through the hole in his abdomen and out his back, and then slithers around the front and into his mouth (we watch as the entire snake moves into the man's mouth and the man falls back gasping and dies).
► Many snakes move around a woman's car as she starts it and into the cabin where they bite her repeatedly in the arm and face and chest; she struggles to get out of the car and falls to the ground where we see many bloody bites on her flesh. We hear squishing and tearing sounds as a man sleeps and we see red and bloody spots opening on his forehead; the man wakes up, looks in a mirror and a horn pops out of one of the spots. A preteen boy is rushed into a hospital with blood pulsing out of his hand and we hear that a cherry bomb exploded in his hand (we see him later with two fingers missing). A doctor touches around the spots where horns have sprouted through a man's head and the man yells in pain; the doctor prepares to saw through the horns and we see him holding a large saw; we later see the man waking up with the saw stuck in one of the horns and he pulls the saw out (please see the Sex/Nudity category for more details).
► A man wakes up in his car and his hand is covered with blood; when he looks around he sees a rock in the passenger seat also covered with blood and finds a woman dead and with a large bloody gash on her head (she is very pale and has one eye that has gone gray) in the woods.
► A preteen boy climbs into a shopping cart at the top of a rusted log flume and rolls it over the hump; he speeds down toward water filled with logs and is thrown in, he hits his head and we see blood in the water as the logs close in over him, he is unable to surface and he floats down under the water until another preteen boy jumps in and pulls him to safety (we see the first boy with a bloody head wound).
► A man sprouts wings out of his back and lifts off the ground before the wings burst into flames and he falls back to the ground where he sprouts large horns out of his head and we see his flesh charred and blackened with glowing crackles throughout and glowing red eyes; another man shoots the molten man a few times and then stabs in the abdomen and chest with a rake three times (we see molten blood pour out of the wound). A man with charred skin and glowing red crackles falls to the ground and the glowing fades to black as he dies.
► Several men and women fight each other using punches and kicks and camera equipment (we see some of them with bloody cuts and bruises later). A man punches another man in the stomach and shoves him onto the hood of a car. A man with a gun threatens another man knocking at his door and says, "I should shoot you right in the heart."
► A man with horns growing out of his head slams his head against a large cement wall trying to break the horns off, then pulls against a piece of rebar trying to rip them out (the horns are unscathed). A man in a bar swings a baseball bat and hits the bar top breaking some glassware; he then sprays a flammable liquid on the bar top and throws a bottle of alcohol onto the floor before igniting it and we see the room go up in flames (people are inside, but we assume that they get out unharmed). Several preteen boys and a preteen girl use cherry bombs to blow up a variety of items like a baby doll, a stuffed bear, a watermelon and a turkey; when the turkey does not blow up one of the boys walks toward it and it does ignite splattering him with turkey flesh (he is not harmed).
► A priest tells a man that he would like to take him out to a tree and string him up. A little girl tells a man, "I want to kill Mommy. I want to burn her in bed with matches." A woman tells a man, "I'd like to kick my spoiled daughter in the [anatomical term deleted]" while her daughter is throwing toys and screaming nearby. A woman tells a man, "I want to key her car and put dog [scatological term deleted] on her front seat. No, I'll take a dump on the seat myself." Many people holding signs accusing a man of murder are gathered outside his house. A man is asleep on the floor with an empty liquor bottle next to him and he wakes up and stumbles around looking for more liquor. A priest tells a man, "There's no hope for you." A man says to another man, "I hope you die alone and helpless in the dirt." A mother tells her adult son that she wants him to go away and she doesn't want him to be her son anymore. A man yells at his adult son and tells him that his dead girlfriend was the only thing he liked about him. A man confesses to killing a couple of dogs and that he held dog fights behind his bar. A man yells at a woman and grabs her arm when she breaks up with him and they argue briefly. A woman says that she told people that a man murdered a woman and then had sex with her corpse. A police officer talks about wanting to beat a man to death with his own hands. A man says that he used to shoplift gay porn when he was a child and that his father would crack him with his belt. A man talks about another man committing suicide by driving his car into a body of water after confessing to a murder. We hear that a lab burned down and evidence from a murder was destroyed. A remark is made about people seeing a devil. We understand that a woman's mother died from cancer. Many grieving people gather at a spot in the woods at night for a candlelight vigil for a woman.
► A man throws an empty liquor bottle against a tree and stomps on a statue of Mary left by grieving people and then urinates on some flowers. A man takes off his shirt, wraps it around a rock and throws it in a lake.
► Many snakes slither toward a man and one moves up a rake handle and onto his arm, and around his shoulders (the man is not harmed). A snake slithers across a road and a car stops before hitting it. A snake slithers around the ground and in a tree in several scenes and many snakes slither around the ground in a few other scenes.
► A man puts a large handful of pills in his mouth and swallows them with alcohol before eating mushrooms and we see his vision getting blurry as he imagines a bowl filled with insects slithering and then imagines himself being buried under the ground and held down by tree roots (we see him in the hospital recovering later).
