Heart Eyes SEX/NUDITY 4

 – A man and a woman hide in a van where another man and another woman are having sex; we hear moaning and giggling, rhythmic movement and flesh slapping, and we see the woman straddling the man later and he is bare-chested. A woman licks a man’s face and they kiss. A woman kisses a man passionately. A man and a woman kiss tenderly. A man and a woman kiss after the man proposes marriage and the woman accepts.
A man and a woman touch their hands together when reaching for a coffee cup in a restaurant and flirt awkwardly. A man and a woman land on the ground on top of each other after the man pushes the woman out of the way of a vehicle; they nearly kiss.
A man says, “These muscles are made for cuddling, not violence.” A detective’s phone pings a couple of times indicating she has matched with someone on a dating app and she stops in the middle of investigating a very bloody crime scene to check (please see the Violence/Gore category for more details). A woman stands very close to another woman when the lights go off in a police station and one woman tells the other, “Any closer and you’d be inside me.” A woman describes her parents’ loving relationship and that when her father died, her mother never recovered. A man says that he and two others are a throuple.
A vibrator writhes on the floor briefly. A woman wears a towel wrapped under her arms and cleavage and bare shoulders are visible. A woman wears a tight-fitting sweater that reveals the outline of her breasts. A detective interrogates a man and her blouse hangs open to reveal cleavage as she sits on a table and leans toward him.

Heart Eyes VIOLENCE/GORE 9

 – A woman runs through a vineyard to escape a killer, she is stabbed through the ankle with an arrow (blood pours), a security guard with a gun tries to intervene and he is stabbed in the head with a thrown blade; the woman hides in a barrel in a warehouse and the machinery presses the two ends of the barrel toward her as she screams and we see her burst with her eyes popping out and blood and matter pouring through a tube outside the barrel. A woman is run through with a flagpole and lifted off the floor; she gasps and blood pours from the abdominal/chest wound. A man stands in front of a masked person and is struck between the legs with a large knife and then slashed across the throat (blood spurts and sprays). A woman holds a blade toward another woman, they struggle, one woman is slashed across the throat, and one woman is slammed into a sword held by a statue and she dangles off the ground where her body separates slowly from her head (we see the tendrils of tissue at her throat as they tear apart) and her body slumps to the floor and her head then topples onto the floor.
A masked person with a knife walks through a drive-in movie area and stabs a man in the abdomen (we hear blood gush and a crunch); people scream as the masked person walks through the area slashing and stabbing several more people. A man is stabbed through the mouth (we see the bloody wound) with a tire iron and a woman that is straddling the man is pulled down onto the other side of the tire iron making a hole through her head (we see the bloody gaping wound). A large blade is plunged through a camera lens and into the cameraman’s eye (we hear a crunch and see blood). A man is shot in the head with an arrow (we see blood and the arrow in his head and one of his eyes turns unnaturally) and he falls dead as a woman screams.
A woman opens her closet door and a masked person is shown inside; she throws a vibrator at the masked person and runs away, a man in the room fights with the masked person and locks him in a room; the man and the woman stand outside the door and a blade is pushed through between them causing the woman to scream and she and a them an run outside where a driver in a vehicle is shot with an arrow (blood spurts and the car window shatters) and a man trying to call 911 is shot in the hand and drops the phone; a man falls to the ground and hits his head (we see some blood pooling on the ground) and falls unconscious. A man and a masked person fight and the man is thrown to the ground with a bloodied face; the masked person straddles the man and a woman slams something heavy against the masked person’s head and the man on the ground stabs him through the back and chest; the masked person falls over dead and the woman vomits twice (we see a lot of goo and hear splattering on the body). A woman is told to pick up a gun that contains one bullet and to shoot either herself or a man; the woman picks up the gun and holds it to her temple before pulling the trigger and shooting the man through the chest and into a woman standing behind him (we see blood on the man’s chest and the woman falls back); a man presses his thumb into the man’s bleeding bullet wound and the wounded man presses an arrow through the man’s face; the man thrashes and is pinned under tables holding candles and he is covered with molten candle wax as he screams in pain. A badly injured man groans and pulls himself across the floor toward another man and a woman and is shot with an arrow through the head and falls dead.
A woman runs to an amusement park where she hides in a carousel that a masked person turns on and the woman falls to the floor as the masked person with a knife chases her and swings the knife toward her; the woman kicks the attacker off the carousel and the police arrive. A masked person with a large knife enters an interrogation room where a man is handcuffed to a table, the masked person drags the blade across the table and swings it at the man who dodges several slashes, and a woman shoots at the attacker as he runs away. A woman hears sounds behind a door and holds a flagpole like a spear to use as a weapon.
A very bloody crime scene is shown as a detective climbs into a blood-soaked wine crushing barrel where a woman was killed and holds up a clump of blood-soaked hair. A man punches a glass window and we see blood and a shard of glass in his hand as a woman removes it with a pair of tweezers. A man and a woman land on the ground on top of each other after the man pushes the woman out of the way of a vehicle. A man and a woman bonk their heads together twice after meeting and flirting awkwardly; the man ends up with a bloody nose. A woman talks about getting sick at the sight of blood.
Many news reports describe a serial killer and how victims have been murdered. A man becomes angry and yells at another man after he did not capture a photo of his proposal to a woman. A woman’s pitch for an ad campaign features famous couples and their deaths (Rose and Jack on the Titanic, Romeo and Juliet, etc.) and she is reprimanded for the timing being wrong with a serial killer at large; her boss says, “I’ll kill you,” “I’ll blacklist you,” and “I hope you get murdered.” People talk about heartbreak and a woman describes relationships ending with cheating, the partner bailing or dying. A woman says, “Brits are so unemotional.” A man and a woman argue and the man accuses her of ditching him. A woman describes her parents’ loving relationship and that when her father died, her mother never recovered. CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
