Day Shift SEX/NUDITY 3
– We hear about a porn star moving into an apartment building.
► Three nude, grimy vampires with long hair come out of a wall (we see no distinguishing features and cannot discern gender). A woman wears a low-cut top that reveals cleavage in two scenes and in the first scene she is also wearing tight stretchy shorts. A woman wears tight yoga pants and a spandex bra top that reveals cleavage and her bare abdomen. A warehouse scene includes dozens of headless unclothed mannequins. A man in a shower scene is shown from the waist up and his chest, abdomen and back are seen (please see the Violence/Gore category for more details). Two women stare at a man’s clothed buttocks and grin.
Day Shift VIOLENCE/GORE 9
– Two vampire hunters are paid for the teeth they collect and they kill hundreds of vampires in very loud scenes by using swords for stabbing and decapitation (with swaths of blood spraying), shotguns, long-handled axes, long wooden staffs, electronic Gatling guns, garlic grenades, and kicks that decapitate many of the creatures with gushing blood; the vampires sometimes have glowing eyes, and often have greenish-brown or oily-black grimacing faces, mouths full of long sharp teeth covered in blood and gore, and their fingers are dirty with long and yellowed nails. A man works in a dimly lit storage shed where we see handguns, shotguns, grenade canisters, sharp pieces of wood, and bullets. Many scenes in the film are in darkened hallways and abandoned buildings, often accompanied by ominous music, and lots of screaming and hissing by men and women. Vampires are sorted according to six types: Elder, Uber, Spider, Eastern, Southern, and Juvie; and older teeth bring more money.
► Several vampires hold a woman and a young girl hostage and two vampires choke the woman, and one vampire throws the woman down concrete steps (we see no injuries), as a man enters and fights with the vampires that kick and beat him; another man enters and is grazed by vampire teeth (he becomes undead) and the first man slices the second man’s head off with a machete (blood sprays), but the victim reattaches his head and the cut slowly heals itself (his head falls off several more times with blood and gore flowing); the first man and a vampire fight with martial arts moves, breaking chairs over heads and breaking a mirror loudly until the vampire slams the unconscious man to the floor. A woman stabs a female vampire through the body with a long staff and we see some blood spurt, the creature turns grimy and ashy and a man shoots her with a silver bullet, but she catches it in her teeth; after a short fight, the man shoots the charging vampire and then cuts her head off below the frame with a machete (some blood spurts into the frame).
► Four men with shotguns, handguns, axes, and wooden stakes raid a large house where they find 47 vampires that drop from ceilings and surge out of rooms, hissing and screaming; the men and the vampires fight with kicks, punches, and throws and the men use weapons to slash off heads and impale vampires, as we hear shrieking and thudding bodies and see a few vampires contort in circus-like poses as they begin to attack and later fall dead in pools of blood; one gets an axe buried in her chest, (we see blood spurting) and another is shot in the mouth (her body is thrown backward before we can see blood).
► Two men descend into a torch-lined dungeon and later into a darker sub-basement with tunnels where they fight vampires using shotguns, handguns, axes and wooden stakes; lots of blood flows and a man rips off a vampire’s arm and hits it with the appendage. A man and a woman each rip off an arm from a vampire (he dies in a smear of blood) as a car crashes through a wall into the area and a man exits with an electronic Gatling gun to shoot and kill dozens of vampires.
► A man with a shotgun shoots an elderly woman who morphs into a fast-moving vampire that hisses loudly from a darkened and lined face; she vomits gallons of dark blood onto a man, they wrestle and fight with martial arts moves and slam each other to the floor and into walls until he shoots her with a silver bullet. A man slashes the head off a vampire (we see a spray of blood) and puts his young daughter in his pickup truck, they are chased by other vampires in pickups and on motorcycles as the girl watches a violent cartoon chase scene on a tablet device; she stops watching and helps navigate through streets as a motorcycle crashes over a larger vehicle and catches fire (the rider falls dead), another rider slams into a car broadside (we see his body folded almost in half backwards and is probably dead), another rider slams into a bridge (probably dead) and the first man shoots out his own tires so his vehicle is low enough to travel through a tunnel and make it to safety. A fast-moving vampire sails into the frame and smashes through a wall as a woman with a large knife rushes toward a man at a desk, she stabs the blade through his hand and into the desk and we see blood as he screams and shudders; they argue and the woman picks up a short silver rod and raises it to his head as the scene ends (the man’s body is later found in a pool of blood, and bloody teeth that spell out someone’s name are seen on the desk). A man shoots dozens of vampires with a handgun, he is grazed on the neck by vampire teeth and sends his friend away to rescue a woman and a young girl as he opens his coat to arm an explosive vest he is wearing; a loud explosion and fireballs spew out and several vampires lie dead with some blood on their bodies. A man and a woman meet, argue, and fistfight for several seconds after she calls him on his cell phone and threatens to kill his wife and daughter; she threatens that she will bite the young girl, turn her into a vampire, and make her bite her mother and drink her blood.
► Two vampires in an abandoned bowling alley eat two cats and while no blood or injury is shown, we hear cats screaming; a man with a shotgun kills both vampires and they lie motionless with some blood visible on their bodies. A man chained to a wire grid screams as smoke rises from his skin and as he screams a cement mixer pours fresh cement all over him to bury him in a house foundation. A man pulls bloody vampire teeth with a type of silver pliers. A woman finds her daughter’s dead body and cries black tears; the body is ashy and emaciated and the head looks like a black skull. A woman smells blood on a vampire tooth and shouts that it is a relative of hers. A man pulls a shard of glass from his shoulder and we see blood on it. A woman and a man smell blood and the woman tastes it; she orders the man to bring her the owner of the blood.
► A man in a shower (please see the Sex/Nudity category for more details) covers himself in salve and then alcohol as he groans and shouts in pain; we see several non-bleeding cuts across his shoulders, chest, and upper abdomen. A man gives a jar of salve to a colleague who smells it and loudly gags. A man faints at the sight of a vampire and urinates in his pants several times. A man vomits yellow muck on a street and retches in another scene, saying he swallowed the vomit. A man climbs out of a manhole, coughs and smokes a cheroot (please see the Substance Use category for more details). A man pulls a dead raccoon out of a swimming pool and we see long sharp teeth. A man says he shot and killed a squirrel as a child and always regretted it. A man says he has pinkeye, but we cannot see the infection. Two teenagers in one scene and a young girl in another scene play violent video games that feature automatic gunfire with loud noises and flashes of light.
► Several pairs of men argue loudly for several seconds. A man and woman argue loudly for an extended time. A man drops things and falls down when someone tosses him a handgun.
