Why is “Extra Innings” rated NR? The MPAA has not rated this film. The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes an implied sex scene, several kissing scenes between a young man and a young woman, a woman and her brother, and two women, and a couple of discussions of sex; two suicides (one by overdose and one by falling from a cliff), a couple of breakups and many arguments about life choices, and at least 16 F-words and other strong language. Set in Brooklyn in the 1960s, a boy (Aidan Pierce Brennan, and Alex Walton as a young man) tries to balance his strict religious upbringing with his love for playing baseball, while also enduring family tragedies.  – A young man sits on a bed in a young woman’s room, she takes off her clothes and climbs on the bed behind him (we see her wearing underwear that reveals cleavage, bare shoulders, back, abdomen and legs), kisses his neck, takes off his shirt (we see his bare chest, back and shoulders), and they lie back on the bed; she then straddles him, kisses down his chest to his abdomen, they stop and talk, they kiss some more and he lies on top of her and sex is implied. A young man and a woman dance together, they sit on a sofa and she takes his hand and places it on her bare leg and thigh and then on her partially clothed abdomen and breasts (we see cleavage and her bra); they kiss and she straddles him, another woman joins them and kisses the first woman and then kisses the young man (he’s her brother) and he becomes upset and leaves the room.
► A young man and a young woman dance at a bar, they move closer to each other, he caresses her arm and they kiss. A woman sits on a bed with a young man and she touches his arm tenderly until the young man’s mother tells the woman to help her in the kitchen. ► A woman shows a picture of her new lover to her family and we see a photo of a woman wearing shorts and a camisole (some family members are shocked). A woman talks to her younger brother about her new lover and describes how they have sex, making the young man uncomfortable. A woman complains about not having had sex with her husband in a long time. A preteen boy talks about a teenage girl and looks at her longingly; he makes crude remarks about her appearance and physical attributes. Two young men talk about talking to young women on a beach. A woman talks about meeting someone in a bar and having a few drinks and getting romantic. A woman tells a young woman, “You have a killer body.” A young man tries to tell a young woman that he loves her and she becomes anxious and leaves telling him that she can’t get serious with anyone. A woman says that her boss (a woman), “Hit on me once.”
► A woman sits in a bathtub and we see her bare shoulders; someone else enters the room and she invites them to join her (we do not see the other person). A young woman wears a low-cut dress that reveals cleavage in several scenes. A woman wears low-cut tops and dresses that reveal cleavage in a few scenes. Extra Innings VIOLENCE/GORE 5

 – A teen boy finds his older brother unconscious on the floor and we see him later in the hospital when a doctor tells the boy that his brother died from an overdose; we see the young man covered with a sheet and then uncovered as a woman speaks to him. A woman climbs to the top of a cliff overlooking the ocean and lets herself fall over the edge; a young man calls out and runs toward her, but is unable to stop her (we see her body covered and being wheeled away on a stretcher later).
► A young man slams a bowl of soup out of a woman’s hands and it shatters on the floor. A young man throws things around his room, yells, and cries; his younger brother watches and cries. A woman breaks up with another woman, saying that she met a guy, and the second woman yells at her and calls her names, goes to her kitchen and throws several fragile dishes on the floor shattering them as she screams. Two young men yell at each other and one pounds a baseball bat against a fence and the ground while yelling and crying. People walk through a cemetery after the funeral of a family member.
► A woman yells at her father and accuses him of not loving her and that he won’t loan her money for a business idea. A woman yells at another woman working for her and orders her to leave the house. A woman yells at her husband and says, “You don’t understand me.” A woman kneeling in her yard picks up dog feces and says, “I’m going to kill that stupid dog.” A man yells at an umpire during a youth baseball game. A coach yells at a boy to take the field. A woman talks about taking her son to Jerusalem to see a psychiatrist and that he is going to get better. A woman talks to her younger brother about needing to go to her therapist and that her sleeping pills are too strong. A man tells his preteen son to “Stop fooling around,” to “Be serious,” and to “Stick to your own kind.” A man tells his son, “Do not get involved with anyone that is not Jewish, or I will disown you.” A man tells his son in several scenes that he should be with people of his “own kind” and that he should keep to his community. A young man describes a psychiatric hospital and says that it was full of people “Crazier than me.” A wife tells her husband that she gave away all her jewelry to a palm reader who said that she could help their son. A woman tells her family that she filed for divorce from her husband. A man tells a young man that his father got sick. A young man says, “I believe in God,” and asks a young woman, “Do you believe in God?” A man tells his son, “Quit fooling around,” “Get serious,” and “Be practical.” After a sexual encounter where his sister kisses him, a young man yells and asks, “Are you out of your mind?” A woman talks about her brother wanting to “Die in the ocean one day.” A young man runs out of a room and says, “I think I’m gonna throw up” and we hear him retching (we do not see goo).
► Two young men race on a beach and one stumbles and falls down (no injuries are evident).
