Rampage | 1992 | R | - 2.7.0

Story about a deranged killer and the effort to bring him to justice.

SEX/NUDITY 2 - A man and woman are shown partially dressed in an office in a police station. A couple is shown kissing. Apparently some of the victims are sodomized. There is only discussion of it, nothing is shown.

VIOLENCE/GORE 7 - 2 people are shot, and a woman is shown bloody and hysterical. A man is shown in front of a tiger's cage naked from the waist up and covered in blood. Bloody body parts are found in a room, the camera scans them quickly, so not much is discernable except for a lot of blood. Discussion of the victims being cut open to get at the organs and the killer apparently drinks their blood. A young girl is shown on a stretcher in a hospital, and we are told that her heart is beating but there is no brain activity. We are then shown the parents making the decision to disconnect the life support systems. A family dog is shown being buried after having been killed by a neighbor. Murderer shown carrying a hefty bag presumably containing a young boy's body. Bloody organs, mice, nazi flags, pictures of children splattered with blood. A young boys hand is shown after his body is found in a river. Two policemen are killed, one's throat is slit, another is stabbed in the chest. A priest is killed. The killer is shown covered with blood on the altar of a church.

LANGUAGE 0 - None.

DISCUSSION TOPICS - Serial murder, insanity, death penalty.

MESSAGE - Serial murderers are insane, and should be judged as such.

CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
